He dies? How did he die?

April 1, 1934 - December 24, 2016, he was over 80 years old.
I don't recall if he said what the medical issues were, but he told us he was ill before he left the forum

I remember he always talked about us becoming gods in the afterlife (and put emphasis on the little g).

I know someone who said same line at a funeral to a man who lost one of his children. Big mistake! The police refused to arrest the father for assault over such an offensive remark.

How is it that so many old people came to mikeís gametalk (chief comes here) and they happen to know how to play video games hardcore ones? My grandparents donít even know how to compose text messages and my super quakerlike staunch Catholic grandma (she conceived five children in credit for her faith in Christ), doesnít even know how to use a computer and had a hard time adapting to DVD players because she was only accustomed to using vcr players back in the day, the only electronic device that she uses it to watch tv. When I brought my n64 to her house for thanksgiving in 1999 so that I could receive help from my cousin there to beat bowser in super mario 64 fucks to the super long distant third spike bomb which you had to spin and spin the joystick around to hurl bowser across the air to the bomb, my grandma was so frustrated and confused on what we were doing and why I needed my cousinís help for it (my palm got blisters). She wanted to use the tv to record some family video thing while there but I bitched and pleaded help from my cousin. On a related note, she would totally teach spaceman that Christianity is the ultimate and only way to salvation. I got her to start writing letters to Kern the past nor if the smash bros forum on gametalk since he is pursuing a degree in Christian ministry now and she loves penmanship and hates to use any cell phone or computer. I think that spaceman could have taught her how to play Nintendo games since sheís totally addicted to card games and Nintendo used to be a card company so she could learn if she tried (she didnít even understand the game of pong back when my mom got the game for Atari when she was young). And it totally confused her when I was playing kirbyís Avalanche with my cousin a dozen years ago at my cousinís house for Easter. If spaceman could play keep games then do can any senior ages citizen.

Spaceman is in heaven playing video games forever now.

Telling a person that their loved one is better off dead is fucking stupid.

If that's the case then what a joke of an existence here. What's the fucking point? Might as well kill myself if this place is so bad compared to the hereafter.

I didn't mean to appear genuine, Q. Sorry. It just irks me when it's said that this life is pointless until the afterlife. I've heard it before. That's just one of my arguments if it's said that this is all pointless.

Just enjoy the ride until itís over.

That's pretty much how I live my life. Sorry if I worried you again.

if you want to interpret it like that

If that's the case then what a joke of an existence here. What's the fucking point?

you can make your own point of why you want to live or not. thinking about whats the point of life is a waste of time imo. youll find that most of the people who commit suicide do it out of nessicity, (income, health) everyone has there own reason for what their point of life is. me personally i will not live to see the day that i am homeless, so that my tipping point, whats yours?

whats yours?

Undetermined. I think setting yourself a "tipping point" to where you will definitely kill yourself is a rather gross thing.

Where did I ever wonder what the point to life was? I make my own point of course. It's just kind of dumb to tell someone their loved one is in a better place but it's okay because this existence doesn't really matter anyway because it's all just for amusement and diversion.

Also I'm sorry if it seems like I purposely argue with you a lot Brandy but I don't honestly know if you consider the things you say. I'm not trying to actively pick a fight with you.

i agree, but i feel like that would be my tipping point. not that am depressed or anything.

its ok. maybe 'hes in a better place' is not the best thing to say about spaceman99. i didnt even know him really. i should of considered it.

I really doubt that. You vastly underestimate the inherent human desire for survival. Unless you have mental problems beyond anything your presence here has ever indicated, you will not find the strength to kill yourself under such paltry duress.

I would implore you to do some research about the homeless crisis affection this nation.

If your dad is anyhting like my dad. He just considers those individuals to be too lazy to find work.

I would also implore you to do research on the homeless. SOH's statement about his dad's view "He just considers those individuals to be too lazy to find work." is a misconception. I've worked with the homeless and it's not easy for them at all.

also i dont know what you mean by underestimating the desire human survival

Basically by saying inherent he means it's an attribute of us (characteristic if you will). Within everyone there's the desire to keep going and to avoid death if it's possible. Even if we have a bleak outlook on life it's not easy to just end your life. People do accept death but it's usually when they are done running away from it and are already near death (think illness). Going homeless is not going to kill you outright so you'd actually have to work to kill yourself. Considering it's arguably the most deviant activity you can do, it won't be an easy feat.

I was homeless once.

One day, this charity person came up to me on the subway and held out a little basket of coins and ones saying that it was for the homeless.

I replied "You don't say?" casually lifted it out of her hands, and walked out.

The timing was perfect. She was so shocked, she didn't even follow.

The human brain is hardwired to avoid death. Even if you think that you're going to kill yourself, the more primitive areas of your brain can force a change of heart. There are many, many examples of suicidal people hesitating long enough or taking mitigating action after an attempt in order to get help and survive their own attempt to kill themselves. You are likely no different.

Who else misses spaceman99?

Me. I came here way too young for anyone to be in a forum like this. (I was 14 at the oldest, but probably younger than that.) Spaceman was this cool older Mormon dude who was mostly well respected and very well versed in LDS doctrine. He helped me understand a lot of what I didn't yet and how to defend my faith in ways other than a typical young teenager would.

While he was Mormon he was also well versed in many religions, Catholicism Islam, ect. I learned a lot debating, arguing and sparing with him.

Years ago I was homeless for 3 days once, I lived in my Corvette and all the other homeless people laughed at me. lol.

Anyway I found out my roommate were doing meth so I packed up that day and moved out. Friends offered me a place to stay but it was a matter of principle, I wanted an apartment to myself with no one around to screw things up.
Three days latter I had a new apartment all to myself.
