Upcoming movies you're looking forward too

Posted 3 Months ago by Jet Presto

So obviously things have been in flux with the pandemic, and there are still questions about when anything is actually getting released. But it does feel like we're moving in the direction where theaters will be opening up more and theoretically it might get safer in some parts of the country to actually go. But either way, it appears studios are looking to return to regular weekly releases. What are some upcoming movies you're excited about?

For me, some of the movies I'm really looking forward to:

Last Night in Soho

In the Heights

A Quiet Place Part II

The Suicide Squad

Three Thousand Years of Longing

Paul Thomas Anderson's "Soggy Bottom" (currently listed as a working title, which I doubt is how it'll get released, but I'll see pretty much anything by PTA)

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Nightmare Alley

Those are some of the bigger films coming up this year. (A Paul Thomas Anderson, Edgar Wright, and Guillermo del Toro movie this year? Dang, if only we got a Bong Joon-ho film, too!)

What are you looking forward to?

I'm currently going through the Godzilla franchise, but I've added the Fast and Furious series to follow that up with. Realized I've never actually seen a full one of them.

I didn’t get into franchise until the fourth or fifth movie. I will say turn off your brain and go in with no expectations. They are mindless action films that are a fun way to blow off steam if you don’t think to much about them. (Especially with how fucking absorb the premise gets for each installment)

The franchise has done four things to me: made me appreciate Corona beer, made me tear up in one of the later films, hype me up at the prospect of Idris Elba playing 007, and hype me up at the idea of Idris Alba playing a black Superman or any super hero (John Stewart green lantern pls)

The spin off is p good too.

At this point I will riot if they don’t follow up this next movie with a Jurassic park cross over, Alien invasion, time travel sequel (in that order)

I do know the series kinda takes a turn for the more absurd, which I'm interested in (and kinda fitting as a follow up to my Godzilla retrospective.)
