I.E. Rejects the concept of hell, accepts gays and all, but doesn't buy into some bullshit leftists agenda, either. I'm so desperate for community, love and acceptance, but I can't buy into the immoral crap that Christendom believes.
Join a car club, chess, club, knitting club, HAM radio club, or whatever your interests involve.
Personally I don't belong to any clubs while I do show up at car shows, air shows, HAM radio meets, ect. where I am surrounded by people with common interest as opposed to joining some "institution".
Does the institution serve you or do you serve it?
Make your own way in life and don't put institutions before people.
You should really only join things that you actually believe in or actually do the shared thing. I understand wanting to be part of a community but I don't know any group (esp. religion) that's going to be just alright with you being in the group when you don't actually have an active part. There are many groups everywhere and I'm sure you can find something that you have a real vested interest in.
I recommend Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints( Some people call us Mormons, but we don't like that nickname. We feel it de-Christianizes us.). A lot of people will try to dissuade you from trying us. Listen to our side of the story.
o_o... wow I actually remember you, from way back. It feels so weird to see this name again. I doubt you remember me.
Hmm... but yeah I don't think there's really any denomination that really fits that bill. Don't they still all follow the Bible? It's pretty explicit about condemning gay acts. I'm not religious so I'm not sure what to recommend... I think clubs are nice, involving whatever you enjoy as a hobby or interest. You could join a hobby community based on your interests, whatever they may be now, like do some sports (you can form strong bonds with your team), martial arts, shooting range, etc...
This is going to sound corny but the best way to feel loved is to love yourself. >.>; And that takes some introspection on what exactly it is you like about yourself... It's ok to remind yourself every day, as well as remind yourself about what you appreciate about your life so you can also love life. And when you love yourself it's easier for others to love you back. /corny moment over
You do? What do you remember about me? And sorry, it's been so long since I was first on gametalk. I.E. the crazy roleplay, D&D, ALLCAPS, raging, conservative anti-abortion, anti-gay hothead. I miss those days! XD
And for loving myself... I want physical intimacy. Sorry, but it doesn't matter how much I love myself. I can't fission off a female clone or otherwise conjure up a girl who wants to cuddle and make love. (I've had the opportunity for sex, but I could tell she was crazy, so I steered clear. I want the emotional intimacy that goes with it as well) Sorry, but I get unbelievably tired of that old platitude. No amount of self-love is going to give me cuddles.
I remember your name and that you used to like arguing. A lot. Including with me. As for specific arguments, idk, I was pretty young at the time, but let's just say I'm not surprised that I found you on this specific board since this is where I remember seeing you. There's probably only like three people I remember at the top of my head... You, OWA and Sully. But the memories are pretty fuzzy to be honest.
But yeah unfortunately the problem is you're not going to love any woman back if you don't love yourself first. Unless you just want to be loved, and not love back (although I would argue that disliking yourself makes it harder for others to appreciate you as well). Have you thought of maybe dance classes? You can work on your mating dance (you may think I'm joking around but I'm not... >.>).... Dancing is so... amazing in so many ways. Anyway if you want to try being a Christian again, then go for it but I think the problem is kind of two-fold here. Your best bet would be to just find a specific church that meets your criteria, but the problem then is there would be a small pool of people. Joining a specific denomination... the problem is I don't think there exists one with your criteria. Might wanna think of another religion all together.
