Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Diamond/Pearl Remakes Discussion

Posted 1 Month ago by RikaxNipah

Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the Diamond and Pearl remakes are confirmed!

and

I have so much nostalgia with D&P! I used to go on Pokemon forums and even do random ass battles with people. What is it you guys enjoyed about the games?

I hope they at least sell the Platinum stuff as DLC. Maybe as an optional overcoat that you can turn off and on.

Also Pokemon Legends is a prequel to D/P, so that is neat to hear.

Pokemon Legends Arceus takes place in the Sinnoh region long before the events of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. The story unfolds in a long-gone era, before the idea of being a Pokémon Trainer or having a Pokémon League even existed.

I hope Platinum is just added in the game myself.

Eh I doubt that'll happen. Otherwise they would have just called it Pokemon Pristine Platinum and skipped the diamond and pearl stuff or allowed all the pokemon to be caught from gen 4 in one game.

I will hope for them to add it, but yeah...I can see them making it DLC or something too.

Legends looks interesting. I am all for Cyndaquil as a starter.

me too! I will use it as my starter for sure.

Yes. As a fire starter it does not get the love it deserves. Its always Charzard or Blaziken.

At the end of the day I am getting both games, and may get Snap.

Pokemon Snap was my first Pokemon game, Diamond was my first REAL Pokemon game. Awesome!

I heard Sword and Shield wasn't as high quality as the rest... which is a shame. Legends has some serious draw call/performance issues... not sure if that can be fixed in one year.

I'm more itnerested in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It looks like the 3D Pokemon game I've wanted since Gen 1 and if it connects with PokemoN Go or Pokemon Snap in some way even better!

it was fine. I loath the series with a passion, But I fairly enjoyed Pokemon Sword. I would be willing to check out the DLC at a later point.

I had a good time with Sword!*

*but I always feel I have to note that I haven't played a "new Pokemon game" since Silver. I can imagine Sword/Shield not being as fun for people who have played like, every new installment.

Yeah if I played every new installment I would think Sword and shield is bad too considering all the games are the same and the formula rarely changes.

I’ve always been in the camp that wants a mature Pokémon game. I think it would be neat but that’s just me.

Same here honestly. I have always wanted a more mature take, but not like just cursing and such but an actual semi-dark plot.

Sun/Moon changed the formula and was way more enjoyable to me due to that reason. I also am unsure how kid me handled playing basically the same game but new chars and mons for so long. It's so samey and wanted a change even if it axed gym leaders and the elite four.

iirc Sun and Moon had the longest tutorial/ most hand holding out of all the games. It was annoying af.

I'm fine with Pokemon remaining a game for kids. I think it it's ok to leave the toys we had as children for future generations of children.

But I think I'd really just like to see something wherein you maybe actually play as Pokemon though. Probably would get too complex for the youngest demographic they hope to get, but I think it would be neat.

I was thinking today if the average kid even watches/plays pokemon. I am sure they do but is it as popular among that demographic as it was when we were children?

I really wonder what is the age breakdown of those who play pokemon/ consume the franchise.

Some people noticed an NPC present in the video that's only present in Platinum and not the original Diamond and Pearl games on DS.
I'm sure we'll get more platinum stuff, like their pokedex. This game might not even have paid DLC like Pokemon Lets GO Eevee and Pikachu. But maybe the ability to trade pokemon with Pokemon Sw/Sh?

Anyway, the gen 4 remakes look OKAY. I'm used to the chibi look now, but I hate how they did the face.. and its jarring when actual battles show its not chibi but regular size models.

Not sure how to feel about Pokemon Legends. Looks like a big game and could deliver. I'm kind of bummed they stuck with turn based combat. I kind of wish it was more like xenoblade where it was auto attack with charging up specials.

As for POkemon snap.. I was never interested in the 64 game.. and while it does look gorgeous on switch, I just don't care about taking pics of pokemon...

Genuinely interested in the Arceus title, which looks like what Sw/Sh really should have been, if only visually.

Less interested in the remakes, given the concerns over Platinum content and the fact that, well... I can just play Platinum. Although I note it's developed by ICLA and not Game Freak, so perhaps it will be a more competent product. I am not taken by the artistic design choices, as honest as they seem to be in being faithful to the originals.

As far as I am concerned, Pokémon peaked with Gen V, and has regressed ever since on the whole. I am content replaying older titles (and dabbling in new for the new Mons and features).

There is a GTAV mod where Charmander and Squirtle run around with shotguns and switchblades and stomp on the cops they kill. It looks pretty good. Also if you play with a friend, you can have them play as Charmander while you play as Charizard, and be like "Don't come near me or my son ever again."

Yeah, seems like GF is all in on the Pokemon Legends Arceus game, and Nintendo got the Gen 4 remakes outsourced. I'm expecting an near exact copy of Platinum, like how Lets Go Eevee/Pikachu are faithful remakes of Pokemon Yellow, but added movesets and dark + fairy type moves.

Taking out Cynthia's Garchomp and Spiritomb should be no issue if they add Fairy type moves.

They're gonna tie the diamond and pearl remakes to pokemon shield and pokemon go for sure. I wonder if trade will be allowed, or if they will just be cheap and do pokemon home.

Maybe an exclusive pokemon in the diamond and pearl remakes to transfer to Pogo as well. Similar to black box with Meltan with the Lets Go series or via home..

More than likely, yes. You can trade/store mons in Home etc

I still need to get Meltan, but don't play Pokemon Go lol
