lol, still. thats a long time. were you trying to avoid it?

If you decide to watch more die hard movies stop after Die Hard with a Vengeance. The rest are garbage.

I mean, there are SO MANY movies that exist, and more come out every month! We've all got "holes" in our viewing.

But yeah, Die Hard is one of the more fun action movies. (I still maintain it's not a Christmas movie though and I don't really know how to feel about how what started as a joke has turned into an unironically sincere position from many that it's the best Christmas movie.)

Die Hard 2 is also pretty fun. The rest are....not great. They're not necessarily bad, and they still have fun things about them, but unfortunately, the Die Hard franchise took its title too seriously. It definitely should have stopped after 4 (I'd argue it should have stopped after 2, but it definitely shouldn't have been revived this Willennium.)

You're right, I don't like it at all!

"I still maintain it's not a Christmas movie though and I don't really know how to feel about how what started as a joke has turned into an unironically sincere position from many that it's the best Christmas movie."

It totally is a Christmas movie and here's why:

1. it takes place on Christmas Eve

2. John's wife's name is Holly

3 and 4. He kills a terrorist, then dresses him up as santa before throwing him down an elevator shaft with the gift of a Bomb

5. It snows at the end

6. The Screen writer has gone on record as saying it is a christmas movie:

Die Hard 3 is still pretty good for the fact that you have Jeremy Irons as the bad guy and Samuel Jackson as John's side kick. Also, apparently the Fort Knox robbery was so realistic the FBI interrogated the screenwriter on how he knew so much about the federal reserve.

Just finished Die Hard 2 and I'm just imagining Holly and John after the fact saying "Just ONCE can we have a nice normal Christmas!?" and wondering how this affects the kids.

I'd say Die Hard 4 is pretty damn awesome. I thought it was downright amazing when I first saw it and I just saw it like 2 weeks ago. I own the fifth but haven't ever watched it and I heard it was bad.

Yeah, true. A few years ago I posted about popular films I'd never seen like the Godfather movies, Jaws, LOTR, Catch-22, Citizen Kane, literally every 007 movie that's not Goldfinger, etc. In the past month or two I've managed to watch some popular big ones that I hadn't seen like Misery, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger, Gladiator, Analyze This, Twins, Being John Malkovich, The Towering Inferno (which Die Hard was semi based on), Broken Arrow, Bad Boys, Repo! The Genetic Opera, etc. There's too many to watch and people will definitely have holes in their viewing. Some of these movies I would have watched but I had no way to watch them. More than half of ones I watched are due to the fact that I just got HBO Max 3 months ago.
