I am pretty psyched to see what they're going to do for gen 8. Rumors have been going around about a minature Nintendo Switch, so it would make sense to release such a device around the time that Pokemon Gen 8 titles come out. Most likely in November of this year.

I’m hoping they bring different battle mechanics than Pokémon Let’s Go to this game. Edit: (I think I meant to say the catching part?) A new Eevee would be nice. Sylveon is still my favorite though. I’m also hoping they bring back the gym badges etc. But, I did like being able to see the Pokémon in the game.

I’m hoping to watch all of it before I leave for school. It starts at 8a for me and I usually leave for the highway around 8:30a to beat the traffic and get Starbucks before my 9:30a class.

Pokémon Sword And Shield will be released in late 2019. :( but, that’s fine. It’ll give me time to play other games. *coughlikemytrailsofcoldsteelgamesthatkeepsbeingpushedbackcough*

The region looks pretty cool and the starters look decent.

Not watched anything yet but apparently the region is based on England so that immediately makes it the best game in the series.

ACTUAL FACT.

So the fire starter is based on the Hare then? Keeping up with that Chinese mythology.

Looks good, but no pokemon in the wild doesn't look right. I wonder if they did it on purpose due to hardware limits or it'd just an initial reveal and they will add them in the final game.. then again it looks like they added random encounters again. I really hoped they learned from go and make Pokemon visible in the wild. Ugh

As usual, fire starter is the most popular, following water type. I'll go with the water type probably.

Would be hilarious if the mascots were aegislash in sword form and shield form. I dare them to do it.

I didn't read anything beforehand, and then immediately clocked when that hill figure appeared halfway through.

Looking forward to this.

There should be a legendary pokemon that is just a floating ak47 with eyes and a mouth. No idea how I'm unbanned because i banned myself. XD Whatever, two months was probably an excessive ban anyway.

My bad, third version(s) should be Pokemon AR15 and Pokemon KevlarVest

I really hope they don't go as hand-holding on the story this time. It was ok at the start of Sun-Moon but it very quickly got a bit frustrating to be constantly stopped by a cutscene or something forcing you to do the story.

I know Pokemon has always gated progress in the story by having blockers, but it's never felt as restrictive as it did in Sun/Moon.

It's been really bad the last few generations. I want them to understand that the kids who loved them are now 20-35.

I'm not sure if people who are 25-30 are their targetted audience.

I agree dont get me wrong as Pokemon has been a boring franchise since gen 2.

Maybe not, but the market is there. We're the kids who grew up with their stupid games and love them.

If you're wondering who they are pandering to... It's everyone, but the gen 1 pandering is quite obvious

I wish they'd pander to the people who played gen 1 (20-35 year olds) and make their games more like they make their movies. Detective Pikachu looks like it's going to be fucking great. I wish they'd at least include a difficulty slider and turn off hand holding in the settings so that we can nuzlocke in peace and not see the same tutorial for the 10th time.

Just going back to basic "Go here because reason" -a reasonable amount of gameplay later- "Now go here because of different reason"

Instead of "Go here" -ten seconds later- "Now go here." -ten seconds later- "Now go over there."

I'm not really bothered about who the target audience is, because I don't really believe anyone (even kids) would prefer the way Sun/Moon did it VS the way previous games did it. It's better for everyone if they are less invasive with their directions and let the game be a bit more open.
