Any word on Metroid Prime 4?

Technically, the words "Panty Tight" are used as adjectives to describe a Kitten.

Your Kitten is too tight. Please air dry.

A good video on why PS3 emulation is so Hard
Video Game News & Discussions

The PS3 architecture was weird. SPUs couldn't access a large memory bank the way modern cards can, so they required a lot of specific coding in order to take full advantage. Journey's sand, for instance, was designed to be distributed across the SPUs. The PS5 definitely has the horsepower to run eve

What do you guys think about disabling posting by non-accounts?

I'm for requiring registration, but once registered people should be able to change their name if they want. Mods should be able to tell who's who with more tools than what's accessible to the average user. They should be able to tell who's spamming.

Not everyone has Xhin's personal contact info. There needs to be a clear way to get an account fixed due to a posting bug. I recommend a dedicated form/bug report page to contact Xhin directly for technical issues.

Part of what initially drew me to actually write a post on the original Gametalk was the fact that I didn't have to have a password to post anything. But back then I was a child, and my parents told me I shouldn't give my name to anyone. Now that I'm an adult I have to register my name on things all

I’ll have to take your word for it because I don’t understand how a graphics engine is going to make gameplay better but if it happens I will admit I’m wrong.

Put simply, if you have to bake, making changes is a nightmare, and there's a ton more things level designers and artists and gamepl

I think Mass Effect aged pretty well. Like all it would need is a bump in resolution and it would be fine. The Coolness factor are the aliens and ships and unique locations.

It's a very clean style that looks modern. It's not going to age as quickly as Oblivion.

I really don't like Mario Kar

That's true, but what about games like Mario Kart 8? That game first launched, get this, May 29, 2014. 6 years ago. Super Mario Galaxy launched November 1st 2007, almost 13 years ago. Both games got upgraded to HD with nary a difference in their construction. And you don't have to forgive it for any

Gaming has always been about indie developers and small studios though

Not really. Game dev was very difficult and very expensive in the 1970s, it didn't get easier until Flash games popped up on the internet in the 90s, and indie gaming didn't really kick off until the advent of digital download

That doesn't really argue against my point. Far too often, game developers put too much focus on good graphics and not enough on gameplay.

OK, but that much is a given. The main point of the thread was raytracing.

And guess what, even when Paper Mario first came out it wasn't trying to be

There are tons of indie developers and tons of small studios. I found a space building game recently that is so obscure probably no one here has heard of it, but it's given me more entertainment (and inspiration) than all the AAA games I've played this year. Should probably write up a review for it

Even though I hated it, the Wiimote is designed to be pointed at the screen, and it's very intuitive to move it around to collect star bits or aim in RE4 or whatever. Gyro on a traditional controller isn't natural at all to me and I hate every single game that I've tried that's incorporated it.

There's a certain balance to the game, you can tackle it from so many angles, the strategy is incredibly deep, but not complicated at all. You can choose to play stealthy, hide back, don't get involved, and try to outlive everyone else. Your weapons will be terrible, but you'll live. You can try to

Mariom, are you aware that The Last of Us has a multiplayer mode? It also has multiple difficulty settings in the single player. You could slap it on easy mode if you just want to experience the story, or you can put it on insanity for a more dark souls kind of experience.

Multiplayer is a good op

I agree that when implemented well gamers will praise the best graphics. But far to often game developers put too much focus on good graphics and not enough on gameplay.

They're not mutually exclusive to each other. A good game with good graphics represents the cream of the crop - Super Mario G

It is true some games don't scale the UI appropriately, but UE4 fixed this issue allowing devs to place icons in locations that remain fixed relative to aspect ratios, irrespective of sizing. So if you played on an extremely wide monitor, if it's corner aligned the HUD will go to the corner, but if

Most of the games I play tend to come from smaller publishers/developers or Indies.

That's honestly probably better. But indies are less experienced, so it sucks that the best games are made by literally one or two guys who have no experience.

But if you don't want to swing your arm around all the time it's pretty hard to enjoy the games on the wii.

Games are going to have quirks you don't like.

It depends on what you consider to be 8k. DLSS 2.0 upscales from a 4k base image, and their AI is really fast. You can more than double framerates with it. My RTX 2060 Super is already capable of effectively pushing 4k 60f on high settings without DLSS, so a 3070 with more power than a 2080 ti would
