Conlanging (for/along with) Writing?

I'm working on a language, related to Japanese, for my kaibyou (cat youkai people). On the one hand it's been a good way to pass time while stuck on story ideas. On the other, deciding how to go about it and the research for it has been a bit daunting, and due to my own nature has gotten in the way of doing actual writing work at times.

Basically I'm trying to find a balance between working on the conlang so I'm happy with it, and not making it the primary thing I focus on. Is anyone else making conlangs - whether simple naming langs or complex full languages - to include in a written work or as a side project?

Balancing language and culture and world and story writing can indeed be a challenge!

A large, but not overwhelming part of work on The World has involved invented languages. Some have indeed been naming languages, or language snapshots that consist of perhaps a sentence or two. Several others are documented and developed much more in depth. Avantimannish, Queranaran, Talarian --- those have been rather well developed indeed. At present, the file containing grammars, notes, lexicons and so forth for various languages of this project run to nearly 600 pages (trade paperback size). There is documentation of varying lengths for 42 languages in that book.

The shortest documentation reads as follows: Tsimpanz: The recently discovered and documented Tsimpanz language (Goodall: 2002) reveals evidence of a kind of bilabial click-like consonant, [X].

At the other end, the grammar sketch for Queranaran is almost 90 pages; Avantimannish runs to 100 or more pages; and Talarian about the same.

1) Is there more?
2) How did the two of you find this new URL for the CWBB before this month (12/17)? I lost it after some time in March 2017 and just now found it again!

I'm trying to figure out how similar/different I want to make my kaibyou language to Japanese.

As for finding here, I tend to head to google and search some combo of conworlds, cwbb and my username or some other term I know is likely to only have been used here. Then bookmark it when I find the new address. If someone ever makes it so the new board is very different in name, I'll have problems.

I think I just googled for "gender" and "Adpihi" and this came up.
Who bought/set-up this *.fun tld version of CWBB?
Any idea?
Do you think there are other former participants who'd also like to hear about it?

One nice feature of the Opera browser is that it allows you to create an icon driven front page for all the websites you access most frequently, plus back pages of favorites.

For example, I've got CWBB, CBB, MythicScribes, DeviantArt, Conlang-L and Reddit already there. Don't have to look up or worry about losing links.

I seem to be spending more time and effort on the conculture than the conlang these days.
But my conlang lately suffers from a lack of ideas, while my conworld suffers from a lack of decisions.
In the past my conlang(s) also have suffered from insufficient decisions.

It’s good to see that the kaibyou have lasted 14 months!
