M-theory and the Multiverse
Posted: Posted October 26th by Kohlrak

I'm hoping to break my habit of comfortable thinking and try to reach into new ways of thinking about things overall.

Scientifically supported "multiverse theory" is a mathematics cult, which little to no actual scientific evidence or basis, yet is pretty much mainstream at this point. Feel uncomfortable, yet? If that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable, now imagine that, despite all that, they might also be right.

Yesterday, I bought some soft plastic safety goggles with an elastic strap and some white spray paint. Much more comfortable than the ridicuous ping pong ball arrangement. Hopefully, they will be ready for tonight.

Good luck.

I'm already well-acquainted with m-theory, enough to be disgusted with a lot of horribly inaccurate pop culture references to it.

CERN. 286 million per year running cost, all based on this. How'm i doing?

Not very well. Besides the fact that I don't particularly care if it's wasteful and irrelevant to day-to-day life, I just plain like the theory.

Ah, you like it. That's why. XD

How about my answer to it?: There's no evidence to support 3d or 4d universe either.

Temperature can be depicted as a ray (perhaps entire line), thus would be another dimension. 4th dimensional axis in general mathematics is having an inside, as opposed to time or something like that.

I'm pulling at straws, here. Good luck on the hallucinations. XD

Do you have anything published? I.e. an essay or paper with your points laid out and carefully explained. I would read it.

Occam's razor, no need to. It's very simply based on the idea that numbers themselves do not exist, but merely the quantities represented, but even that only exists as a direct result of the things being quantified existing. As such, mathematics were a method which we are able to simplify the universe into our heads (just like words, which also do not exist). Multi-verse theory is merely using math to extrapolate on everything we know. Truth is, we know little to nothing, and, although we suppose our universe is infinite, we don't actually know that (I'm not sure it's even possible for us to know that). Our universe is what it is, irregardless of what we think it is or want it to be.

I see. Well, good luck with that.

Not having much: despite everyone and their brother saying they're logical, people insist on disagreeing, without any logical disagreements. It's almost like saying "women can rape men:" people will neither accept it nor will they come up with any logical reason why it cannot be so, without being forced to redefine the word "rape."

I was wondering how close were were getting to going off topic. XD
