I raised my cat to be narcissistic and entitled

Just like me.

He is sitting on my bed yelling at me to come pet him.

Yes, Tiger. The world does revolve around you.

Uh, it's a cat. Aren't they narcissistic and entitled by nature?

My other cat is, like, the complete opposite!

My brother raised her...

Really sweet! Shy and quiet. She'll start purring if you so much as look at her.

Not at all. They tend to get that way because of the way we treat them.

One of our cats, he's always been lovely, but he used to be less needy and "entitled"... But after he was hit by a car and got basically constant attention from the family while he recovered, after that he became quite attention hungry... And then now he has a few medical conditions (arthritis for example) and has to be given medication & fed more than usual just to keep him healthy, the extra food and attention he gets from this has only made him worse :P

They're much like humans really, if you spoil them they'll come to expect it. But since we typically do spoil our pets, they typically get that way :P

Our male cat has taken to yelling at 4am now. We're not sure why, at first we thought it was like the first signs of light in the morning was disturbing him but now that sunrise is much later we don't think that can be the case... Whatever it is, he gets up and claws at the kitchen door and yells for attention. First few times someone would give in and see what he wanted (and I think that was the mistake) but he never really wanted anything, just seemingly wanted attention.

The female is just addicted to rubbing up against literally everything it can find... We think it's because it has bad eyesight it's relying on its scent to get around, so it's constantly making sure objects smell right :P

I wouldn't want to have cats now because I cannot stand having animal hair where I live and on my things. However I used to have a lot of barn cats when I lived with my parents on our farm. I would always feed them and pet them and they would always seem happy to see me when I approached (they probably just knew they would be fed soon but whatever). They would drink milk that spilled onto the barn floor. Sometimes they would abuse their position and get in the way while I was trying to pour bottles for the calves (while holding a very heavy container of milk) so I would have to kick them (not hard just like a shove with my foot) because they would try to stick their heads into the container while it was being poured. My dad and brother were not so considerate and would sometimes spray them with a water hose.

The younger cats would always fall asleep shortly after eating, which I always found amusing. Some of the cats were shy and would run away from people, but I would make it a goal to tame them. I found that if you did not approach them directly, and turn away from them, they would often approach you from behind to investigate and I would make small movements to pet them. It would take a few days or weeks but I could usually befriend them this way.

Your barn cats sound like characters. :) I've never really tried to tame a shy, less domestic cat before. Looks like it takes a lot of patience. When you were able to befriend them, did they become friendly only to you, or did they generally become warmer around people?

I think just towards me. They were still timid in general and would not like to be approached directly.

Gotcha. I was curious, thanks. :)

My cat demands attention from people without discrimination.

Kinda does, doesn't he? He normally has more of a mane, which enhances his jungle cat look. :)
We shaved him a few weeks ago though.

He must be a pretty good kitty if he tolerates being shaved. His eyes are so... slanted. And his face is so... structured. Interesting looking cat.

My cat has a pumpkin head. The other one is just fat.

He's gotten a lot of comments on his appearance. Most people tell me he looks angry. I'm too familiar with his (cuddly) disposition to see it. Other adjectives have been "wise," "exotic," and "mystical."

You should post pictures! I would love to see your cats.

Those are some apt compliments. He's all those things! Do you have any more pet pictures?

Hm, I'm having trouble uploading images right now. For now, I hope you can believe me when I say they're not particularly cute. Lol. My dog (Spud) is the cute one, I'd say. I have to put him down pretty soon, though. Vet's going to look at him today. I'm really sad about it.

I have a ton, they're just all on my phone. This is my dog though. He is probably the cutest one of our pets too. :)

I'm so sorry about Spud. :( That's gotta be really hard... Is the vet going to tell you today if he needs to be put down?

I remember watching some neighbors of mine play with their dalmatians. they got some brand new dalamtians after the disney movie came out. they had the blue collar on the boy dog, and the red collar on the girl dog. they even dressed up as dalamtians on halloween. their was a mother dalmatian and a father dalmation and a boy and a girl dalmatian, and they made up a dance about that family.
