When you have a machine that is an item, is it possible to prevent someone from setting it down?

If not, could you add a way to make that possible? I have managed to create a pretty cool thing using two machines attached to one item... But it gets split out into two items when you set it down and pick it back up & I don't really want it usable as a deployed machine anyway, it's much cooler as just being an item.

(Currently having to rebuild it as one item again!!!)

Well I don't think you put anything in place to prevent two machines to one item (as long as they start off as an item rather than a deployed machine), I think it's what I did with said item that's more cool.

I have actually managed to break it again though because the game lets you make a room have a relationship with itself, so if you could find a way to prevent that from happening too :)

Ok, said item and the two associated machines are currently in its working state... As with everything I've done so far my character is a clone of the item.

Whenever you get chance to look at the two things I've mentioned (non-deployable machines & prevent rooms having relationships with them-self) you can ghost me to test it :)

How it works.

Two machines-

Portal Gun Entry, this changes the room relationship to make current room be the mouth and then the tail for the other relationship.

Portal Gun Exit, does the opposite. Turns the current room in the tail for the first relationship and the mouth for the other relationship.

It breaks if you use both on the same room because then both relationships become the same one, so both entry and exit machines change everything to always be the current room (hence why I need it to block rooms being able to have a relationship with themselves).

It also doesn't work on two rooms that already have a relationship (because it obviously sees that relationship exists and doesn't let a duplicate exist... I also suspect if you somehow found a way to break past that then the portal gun would override the existing relationship which would be very bad when you start moving the portal around).

When I am confident I can deliver the game I will stick the signup post in announcements. Last time I made the mistake of doing sign ups and then not having enough time to really set the game up, so you ended up with a sub-par experience of what NIFE can do and NIFE can now do a lot more so I want to make sure this game really shows it off more :)

@Moonray: Machines have a "Can't set down" attribute that you can set that does exactly what it says on the tin :)

The other issue was fixed as well (can't move a mouth to the tail, can't move a tail to the mouth). :)
