The Ice Planet is basically unplayable

It takes you back to the start with the nomad and then it's impossible to drive anywhere.

No no, Noveria is easy to navigate. I am talking about the Ice Planet in Andromeda.

What do you mean it takes you back to the Nomad and then you can't drive anywhere?

It goes back to the tempest (where you use the jetpack to get around) except now you have the nomad and it can't traverse the terrain because the terrain is only traversible by jetpack. Must be a game breaking glitch like you mentioned. I shouldn't even be at the tempest. It teleported me there after I fell off the side of the cliff.

I don't know what to do short of loading an old save and hoping I can do the entire level without falling once. A hard ask since the snow blinds me and I don't know where the pits are.

Okay so apparently I drove down to the tempest. But the lights would have me believe I am supposed to go that way. <_< In any even once down there it's clear the vehicle is unfit to do anything else.

Any ideas?

Have you been able to respawn the Nomad? You're talking about Voeld, right?

I'm confused, did you drive down there (if so how, because I seem to recall that'd lead you through a cave full on Angara? which the Nomand may not even fit through?). Or did a glitch take you down there?

Also what happens if you just go back to the Forward Outpost (that deployed when you unlocked the Nomad) and just recall the Nomad? That should just respawn it back where it was originally supposed to spawn.

As I recall from that map, it spawns on the edge of a cliff/hill edge and you can either drive it down a path or just drive off the edge (I drove off the edge) and descend down to the open-world part of the map. The only danger of falling is in the first section, which the Nomand isn't even supposed to be in. Once you're in the open world bit there are no pits to fall down that I remember.

I just followed the lights and ended up next to the tempest, and back to square one, except the nomad can only go down to that level not up. I didn't go back through the base. I am clearly just lost as to what to do.

Yes Voeld

All I can think to suggest is go back to the forward outpost and respawn the Nomad.

Or leave the planet and return.

On go on foot to the next forward outpost and use that to summon the Nomad (that would be a pain to do though so would be my last effort if all else failed).

When I first get in the nomad should I just free fall? Seems counter intuitive.

That's what I did, just drive straight off the cliff forward.

You just gotta remember that this thing is basically like the Mako, it doesn't care how far it falls it'll always be ok :)
