Sleep Paralysis (My Story)
Posted: Posted June 19th
Edited June 19th by Shadow Sonday

So what happened was yesterday morning around 6am, I couldn't move at all. The only thing I could've move was my eyes, then that was it. Then..... I heard a slight small scream in the room. As I was paralyzed..... I don't know.... Something like some type of spirit was in the room with me. I was laying on my side when this happened. When I was paralyzed, unable to move. With the spirit in the room with me......... What causes sleep paralysis?

Try uh shaking yourself awake. That usually works pretty good.

But the thing was I couldn't move. Or at the time, I didn't think that was a good idea.

You obviously should have moved your eyes rapidly from side to side to vibrate yourself - is what Xhin is saying.

TOO LATE TO SEE THIS

I used to have some similar situations when I lived with my parents. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night, on my side, and be so terrified that something was on the other side of me staring at me. I wouldn't turn over. I don't remember it being a feeling of paralysis, but a strong feeling that something was watching me. Some members of my family feel that the house is haunted, mainly because it is a lone house on top of a hill and there used to be another house in its place. I never believed in things like that, but I did experience a few strange things while in that house.

Anyway, aside from obnoxiously referencing things people here don't know shit about which means things that people don't know shit about because I couldn't resist, you'll probably be fine with time. Medically, sleep paralysis usually isn't a sign of anything serious as far as I know. There's like sleep apnea though. If you're having trouble breathing while sleeping, tell your doctor.

Spiritually these things usually pass and you'll probably just have some really weird shit happen for a while at most.

No I mean like, if you try to use your muscles to shake yourself, it won't work at first but it'll eventually make you awake.

Well, the other night I dreamed I was sailing on a river of gravy while rowing a ceramic gravy boat. Doesn't that sound like the weirdest thing to you?

Was that story boring? Now you know how I feel when other people whinge on about their dreams.

Don't be rude for no reason. If it's not interesting to you, then you don't have to enter the thread, read the thread, write out a reply and post it.

The studies on it are interesting. The occult implications are also relatively interesting, but no reason to get into that. Seems to be benefit in attempting to continue to move what you can move, especially blinking your eyes.

Riiiiiiight, Nullfather. Says the person who can ignore what I say, but chooses not to.

(dials phone) (rings) (picks up) "Hello? Mr. Kettle?"

I have to like the post, despite not having enough context to fully understand the back and forth, but that delivery is absolutely golden.

I'm no longer interested in our invariably toxic relationship. Xhin, in his infinite wisdom, has solved the problem of my frustrated shitposting in an unexpected way.

Toxic relationship in the sense that you're toxic, and you like to convince yourself that I'm toxic. Like I'm Batman and you're Joker.

You'll try to ignore me, Nullfather. I give it a month or two before you try unsuccessfully to put me in my place with impotent sarcasm again.

You don't openly flame or insult people as far as I remember, so I really don't have any business with you.

I'll moderate the people that might get pissed off by you and start doing so, however. Whatever personal disagreement we may have does not preclude the enforcing of the rules.

Right. Precisely. I don't flame or insult people. Yet you're still pissed off at me. Which means that the fault lies within you, not me.

Riddle me this, Nullfather. You've self-appointed as an admin, so tell me. What rules am I breaking? I wouldn't miss your response for all the tea in China.

Like I said, you're not breaking any rules currently. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen you blatantly break a rule.

Well, if you're not after me for rule-breaking, then what are you after me for? You've got a bee in your bonnet about something I've done, what is it?

I'm not concerned about anything you've done. Do you want to talk about something?
