Seriously, after E3 2015, I never thought Nintendo would deliver again. I mean, E3 2016 was okay but more the same. This year, they finally listened to us! look at how much they've improved since E3 2015:

E3 2015

The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Forces Heroes
Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Super Mario Maker
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
Splatoon
Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash!
Star Fox Zero
Star Fox Guard

E3 2017

New Kirby game for Switch
New Yoshi game for Switch
New Pokemon RPG for Switch
Metroid Prime 4
Metroid: Samus Returns
Fire Emblem Warriors
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX + Bowser's Minions

It's like they're finally listening to us, 2 years later!

Nintendo is pumping out more quality 1st party titles in their first year for switch, then the first 3 years for Wii u

Breath of the wild
Mario kart 8 deluxe
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Fire Emblem Warriors
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Mario X Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Absolutely insane!!!

Lets hope the western third party games come too... https://zeldauniverse.net/2017/06/15/reggie-says-that-nintendo-wants-every-high-quality-third-party-game-on-the-switch/

Forgot pokken tournament deluxe also. Two are technically two old enhanced ports, but that's still good

Nintendo is going to go first party ONLY just like the did for the wiiu. They are not fond of third party games at all. All we've got is skyrim for it right now. Even the wii and wiiu started out with multiple AMAZING third party titles, one of which being resident evil 4 which is SOH's favorite video game.

Nintendo is going to lie to us and not poet any or hardly any third party games. Yes they have wonderful first party games, but there's much more to offer for gaming than just those.

Should be interesting to see what kind of 3rd party support the switch has in the next year or 2

Look at the link I just posted.. Reggie Files Aime definitely cares about third party games.

The Switch is too different to have adequate third-party support or to be seen as worth the risk. It's easy to have a game on PS4 cross over to X1 because they are somewhat similar. Then you have Switch, where you have to consider its lackluster online system, lower powered hardware, and different control schemes, coupled with the fact that the audience for third-party games is largely already with an X1 or PS4.

Why put money into developing for this vastly different system when there is little chance of gaining anything out of it?

Nintendo doesn't need the third party support anyway. What they should do is get people to port last gen games to switch and sell them at a premium since it's handheld. Skyrim is a good example.

The Wii U had nothing but first-party titles and tanked.

Since you said they don't need third-party support, I'll assume you mean last gen titles from Nintendo. So, Smash, MK8 (which has already been done), and what else? Sorry, but porting six year old games is not going to sell the Switch. Anyone that wants to play Skyrim - has already played Skyrim. Probably twice.

Agreed. Old games are not going to make the console sell in any significant numbers to matter. They'll probably be great for publishers because people who own a Switch will go "hey you know what I'm gonna get that and play it on the switch" at some point.

What really needs to happen is Nintendo needs to get unique third-party games... I feel like even with the hardware boost that the Switch got it's just not up to scratch (I've seen a few developers talk about struggles getting their game to work on Switch and having to downgrade something). I believe EA is releasing something on switch that's basically a downgraded version.

But if these companies stopped thinking about ports of their current developments (and old), and instead worked on stuff specifically for Switch, that'd be a boon. Instead of the Switch getting "the weakest version" of a game (in the eyes of customers) it'd just get decent games.

Ubisoft seems to get this. Most of the stuff they announced for Switch was specifically for Switch or wasn't "advanced" enough that they had to downgrade.

What I mean is third party titles from last gen.

Get the Mass Effect Trilogy, the last gen version of GTAV, Red Dead, and one thing they really need is their own Forza/Gran Turismo type racer. Nintendo has never had a good racing sum because they put all their focus on Mario Kart and frankly MK8 makes me want to throw up because of all the upside down and random flying and stuff. I just want tires on pavement please.

I like MK64 and MKDD but it's like they've been on acid making the last 3 main ones.

I am not saying MK8 is a bad game I am saying I literally get dizzy playing it

If Switch got a game like Oblivion I would buy it instantly just for that.

Assuming it has the battery power to last a 5 hour bus ride.

All in all I am just saying they shouldn't even bother to try and compete with PS4 and Xbone. They should play to their strengths and make enormous games from last gen playable on handheld. And sell them at a premium price like they did with MK8. They should do it with all their Wii u titles that sold 1m or more and with every third party title they can get that sold 5m or more.

That's the quickest way they can expand their library and make it a worthy purchase

I think you overestimate how many people are willing to pay to play these old games on a mobile device.

Do you really need 6 replies jfc talk about spam.

I don't even think my vita or my 3ds could last 5 hours with out charging so battery shouldn't be an issue. The switch is an impressive feat Imo.

The switch is a neat device. I won't be buying until a revision of the console is released with a 10 hour battery life.

I am logged in at home. Just not when I go out. I forget the password for Mufasa.

I may overestimate the selling power. But you may underestimate it too.

Can the switch charge when it is off it's dock? Does it have just a normal charge cable?

I can only speak anecdotally obviously but backwards compatible makes Xbox one more appealing to me than PS4. I realize PS4 outsells it but I can't comprehend why other than PlayStation has more brand power

Nintendo though has the most brand power of the three when talking exclusively about video games. When you keep windows and Sony's headsts and TVs out of it.

backwards compatibility doesnt really interest me for the xbox one. I dont think one of the best story driven games of last gen is even compatible with the xbox one and two there isnt an xbox one exclusive that is making me buy an xbox one.

same for the ps4 but the last of us 2 might change that.

Which game is that?

Xbox has shit for story driven games aside from Mass Effect. But it's got a lot of good gameplay based games.

I don't know that PlayStation has much either though with the exception of the last of us. Which I can play on my PS3 and there is no other compelling reason to buy a PS4.

I may get a used one to beat FF12 hd and then sell it when I am done though.

Spec OPs the Line. It looks like a generic 3rd person shooter and plays like it to. But its story is down right amazing. A hidden gem for sure.

Mass effect is also on the PS3. No reason to upgrade imo.

Im currently borrowing my friends ps4 and I havent touched it since I set it up. I may finish the last of us and uncharted 3 before the summer ends though. Nothing for that console interests me enough to pick it up. Not even Battlefield 1 or the new cod. And I say that as a history buff.

New Pokemon RPG for Switch
oh yeah, I need to look into that

sfox or anybody, do you happen to remember what they actually said about that? The stream I was watching was so laggy during the Pokémon segment that I literally didn't hear any of what was said, and by the time I got a different stream open it was already on to the next thing.

the cable that connects the dock to an outlet can also plug directly into the switch, yes. I've done a good amount of charging without using the dock.

They just said they were producing a full RPG game on the Switch. Nothing about release dates or titles. Don't remember if they said anything about 3 dimensional graphics

thanks, that's about what I expected - it was a short segment and I didn't hear a ton of carrying on about it afterward. Wonder if it'll be something along the lines of Colosseum - not the same style as the main games, but based on similar gameplay.

But I'm sure more will be available in the coming months. Check out nowinstock.net periodically and find the game and get alerts when online stocks are available online.

No, I didn't preorder any. I thought there was only for the UK, and just saw its available in NA too.
