I change my mind to the logic that he should NOT retire this season.

Still gonna get swept next series by the warriors, especially without Parker and the fact that the warriors haven't lost a game yet this postseason.

Harden me, I should have changed my nickname to this one instead.

Fuck, kawui got hurt? Spurs should just give up for now since they're without their two best players.

The Spurs still have to get past the Rockets. They're up 3-2, but this has been a relatively tough series. Rockets are still very much in it.

Leonard tweaked his ankle, but it sounds like it isn't too bad. I don't believe he'll be missing any action. At least, I haven't heard anything that indicates he will be out.

Neither team will won a game against the unbeaten warrroors next series.

Leornard is still questionable last I checked, but as Kenny Smith said on the broadcast after the game, it looked more like a ding than a full blown injury.

Also I firmly believe that the Rockets or the Spurs can take one from the Warriors. With the Rockets it's going to be an outscoring/who misses the most type of series. If the Spurs win they'll rely on defense.

Rockets are still very much in it.

Agreed but D'Antoni has to make adjustments. People want to blame the loss on Harden but it was mostly D'Antoni's fault. Playing just 7 guys in a playoff game is ridiculous. I say mostly because, while Harden was clearly gassed from playtime, iso ball in the final few minutes didn't help. Anderson was hot and Ariza was warm. Why he elected to dribble in the back-court for 23 seconds only to chuck up a contested 3 is beyond me.

Sounds like Leonard is out for tonight. Seems likely he'll be available next game, though.

Wow, they totally ennilhated the rockets IN HOUSTON tonight even withOUT Leonard! Lemarcus Aldridge filled in for him and had a big night, and like you said eagle, they relied on defense, and will have to this upcoming series against the warriors. I really want steve Kerr to be healthy and returning to coach for the warriors this series, because he used to play for the spurs (under coacch popovich as well), and won two championship titles with them, and retired in 2003 along with David Robinson after they won the NBA finals in six games against the nets.

I wanted to see these two teams square off in LAST YEAR'S western conference finals, but the thunder took the spurs in six in the semifinals and ALMOST and SHOULD HAVE knocked odd the warriors in the next series, and guaranteed if that happened then Durant would still be playing for the thunder and wouldn't have made his move to the warriors.

I think the spurs can take one or two games from this next series but that's it. I don't know if Leonard will even be playing at all or playing well in this next series. He could screw up like like James harden did tonight for the rockets.

All I can say is good look, San Antonio.

There's some thinking that Harden may have been playing with a concussion. He definitely seemed like a completely different player and lacked the same energy he normally brings. Seems like a plausible explanation.

But yeah, should be a good conference final. The Warriors have more star power, especially if Leonard is aching, but the Spurs are well coached and maybe have a slightly better bench. (I expect the Warriors to emerge in 6, but the Spurs won't be a push-over.)

Black mantle/doctor doom thinks that the spurs honestly have a chance at winning this series and he is rooting for them. Eagle here is a die hard spurs fan since he lives sort of close to San Antonio, but black mantle/doctor doom lives close to the Bay Area but still wants the spurs to win this western conference finals. A spurs/cavs NBA finals repeat would he nice, and I predict that the spurs would win that one, since they have faced lebron twice (should have one the first won, no pun intended and they won the second won 4-1, beating the heat in Miami both times, which compelled lebron to return to Cleveland the next season).

Oh to be sure, the Spurs absolutely could take the series. No doubt. It wouldn't even ultimately be all that surprising. If Leonard is aching and with Parker out, though, it's going to be a lot tougher, obviously. I just think there's too much star power talent in Golden State. Either way, I would bet on whoever wins that series to beat the Cavs, or definitely the Celtics or Wizards if either of them make it. (Although, let's be real, it's going to be the Cavs. Everyone knows that.)

Clutch shot by John wall last night. Let's be real though, the celtics are gonna blow out the wizzards at home on Monday night for game 7.

That was very depressing and I feel very bad for spurs fans including eagle here. They had this game won (one). If only Leonard hadn't stepped on zaza. Leonard is their best defensive player and he may be out for the rest of the series now. It only the spurs had grabbed the rebound with under a minute to play, they probably would have won this game. It's such a shame that they lost it and now probably won't win the series because of it. They're very well coached and have a defensive front and back and they have an inside game (Aldridge), compared to the warriors who only take shots around the perimeter/outside of the paint. I wonder how the spurs would be if they had Westbrook. They'd have to put him as a shooting guard because Parker is their point guard, but Westbrook is only 6"3' and black mantle told me via Facebook chat that is undersized for a shooting guard and would get stomped from players like harden.

I agree. He should be suspended for a few games at least, if not, the entire series/playoffs. How long will it take for Leonard to recover from this injury and see him back in action again? Even if he does return for this series, Leonard won't be in full shape and won't be able to play his heart out like he needs to cause the spurs are already without Parker. And gasol is always injured or just sits out and does nothing. What the spurs should do next season is either trade for or directly pick up russel Westbrook and then play in a format like the warriors are doing right now. The warriors don't have an inside game because draymond green takes shots around the perimeter and not inside it like how a true power forward is supposed to play, and they're playing so well, the spurs should emulate them.

Definitely was an intentional stomp on Leonard's foot and zaza should be suspended for the remainder of the playoffs, after looking at the repay closely on the TNT plstgamr show. In fact I think that if anyone intentionally tries to hurt one of their opponents, then they should forfeit the series and give the winner to the victim's team and eliminate the villain's team for the rest of the playoffs. Would see spurs in the finals this year if that was the case.

I have no opinions about Zaza, but am I seriously the only person who doesn't think that was a "dirty play"? This didn't even look like a classic Bruce Bowen type play to me. Wasn't like an Olynyk-twisting-Love's-arm type play either.

Posted May 16th by Jet Presto

I don't think it was intentionally dirty. Just very reckless.

Oh, yeah. Ok, cool. That was my take away as well, and I thought I was going crazy because I didn't think it was "dirty."

I'm a Warriors fan, so I might be a little biased, but it didn't look dirty to me. Just a little clumsy and desperate. Undoubtedly we should have lost that game, though Steph and KD certainly did their best to earn it.

It was good for my team, but it sucks seeing a player go down like that, let alone one of Leonard's caliber. Was hoping the Warriors could take down the Spurs in a well-contested, entertaining series, but that'll be harder with the Spurs missing their MVP candidate. After we missed out on this series last year (replaced with the very exciting showdown with the Thunder, to be fair), I was looking forward to this one...and I'm sure the Spurs will still be competitive, but it's hard to see them realistically taking this if Leonard is out for very long.

What's the status on Leonard's injury now? Is he out for tonight's game? I want this to be a good series, and I don't care about what goes on in the east.

As far as I can tell, it's very unlikely he plays tonight.

Just watched the deadt lottery and the lakers got number two again. Also they said that Leonard is out for this game, so I'm not gonna watch a massacre.

Even though I have liked the warriors up to this point, i am going to root against them this series and the next all because of that reckless play that zaza did to hurt Leonard and make him miss the first two games and most likely the rest of this series which they will lose now without him. He's their he's best defensive player and they gave up 136 points tonight. A total massacre.

Posted May 16th by weid man

Yeah, it was definitely ugly. The good news is that Game 3 isn't until Saturday, so there's a bit of breathing room to heal up. I imagine he'll play then. And Simmons was pretty darn good. He's not the same kind of defensive player, nor creates the same kind of offense as Leonard, but he showed up. That could be a resource to use off the bench that generates some scoring.

Posted May 17th by Jet Presto

Well, we best hope Kawhi Leonard gets healthy by Saturday, otherwise we're in for two incredibly fucking boring conference finals.

Posted May 17th by Jet Presto

TBH, this cavs-celtics game is bullshit atm. And we're going to have a threematch NBA finals it loooks like. If this is the way that the NBA will turn out every year then I am going to boycott/abandon watching thjs professional sport.

Kawhoi Leonard and Isahah thomas are out for the remainder of the playoffs.

Posted May 20th by weid man

I haven't heard about IT being out (although they probably should just keep him on the bench and let some of the younger players show what they can do - the Celtics were clearly building for the next few years and not loading up for this year anyway, and even the Celtics know they have no shot of avoiding getting swept - let Jaylen Brown play for a contract!)

But yeah, sounds like the new game will be: what's the longest you can go in either conference finals without turning the game off?

I think only Spurs/Warriors Game 1 did I make it past half-time.

Posted May 20th by Jet Presto
Jet Presto

That was the luckiest shot finish that I've ever seen. How did the FUCk did the celtics win on the ROAD WITHOUT THOMAS, but got their balls cut open by them at home with him in the lineup?

Yeah, of course the one game I can't watch because of work is the one game worth watching.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty surprised that we aren't going to have two undefeated teams in the Finals--it almost seemed inevitable with the way things were going. If anything, I would have thought the Spurs would be the ones to pull the upset. It would have been truly remarkable had both teams completed a triple-sweep, but I suppose we'll have to "settle" for the third straight Cavs-Warriors finals. ;)

Yep. Had to close at the theater. That means I don't get out until midnight. Worst, they didn't even re-air the game later that night, like they usually do!

That is very disturbing. This game sucks balls atm and it's a very sad way to end the season for the spurs, because I don't know if gasol and ginobili are gonna return next season.

Is this ginobili's final game of his career?

Itving and lbj were on red hot fire the entire second half. Expect to see an offensive powerhouse in the NBA finals between the cavs-warriors. One team is gonna score 150 points one of these games in the finals coming up next week.

I've only had enough time to follow the Stanley Cup playoffs lately, so glad to feel slightly more caught up on NBA after reading the opinions here. I'll probably carve out some time to watch the finals once Cleveland is done with Boston.
