I know we have one over on /books but that one is dead and this forum has a lot more active members.

We don't necessarily need to start right away I was thinking mid May and or June.

For the sake of money and time I was thinking we give our selves 3 weeks to a month to read the book. And have a discussion at the start of every month.

The book would be in a digital format so I will provide a PDF/epub for every one to access.

Every month we have a different user recommend a book.(note they will have to provide an epub or PDF)

Thoughts? I know a month is a lot of time but I figure every one's schedules are vastly different. If this were to happen and you would like to purchase a physical copy of the book by all means do.

I would prefer to do non fiction but fiction is cool too.

I'm currently interested in geopolitics, Asia-Pacific, finance, politics, and international relations.

I think it would be cool to read books in keeping with some of the topics that come up here a lot. Controversial ones meant to stimulate discussion/argument would probably be best to keep it fun and interactive.

I am already reading a couple books on James Madison, a book about Alexander Hamilton, a book about slavery in colonial New England, a book about John Adams and the fear of an oligarchy, a book about the history of immigration laws, and a book about the Korean War.

So...I'm stretched a bit thin and definitely wouldn't be able to commit to anything.

Also admittedly not sure a book club here would make much difference. I'd imagine it quickly turning into just people who find the author "disagreeable" dismissing the arguments, and I suspect everyone would hate continuing to read a book presenting a different perspective. (But maybe I'm wrong...)

I don't really want to post my e-mail, since it's my full name.

There's a veritable cottage industry of people consuming fiction they hate for the sole purpose of bitching about it (for free or otherwise), so I think it'd work great.

Count me in, man. I need an excuse to read more political works anyway.

This! Also I'd be down for it if it's epub/otherwise free.
