Flammable! Or, inflammable? Forget which. Doesn't matter!

...So I'm replaying the trilogy building up to the new game. Replaying it on XBox One (and boy does it run super noticeably better), but I just rescued Liara.

If Asari live to be about 1,000 years old, and Liara is only 106, you're essentially banging an Asari child if you choose to romance her, right? That would be the equivalence of romancing a 10 year old human....

Not necessarily. That assumes that this race has the same symmetry to their sexual development as humans do.

What Null said.

It really depends at what point Asari are considered adult. Typically I find in sci-fi the "long lived" races mature at a similar pace to us and then just spent an incredibly long time in adult life.

The machiavellian menace

Didn't do a great job here, but I was tryin' to be funny.

Child romancing is no laughing matter Jet.

But yea I figured you were joking, I just found it more interesting as a talking point because I don't think the games ever go into detail about when Asari are considered adults?

Well since Humans only live 1/10 as long as asari, then liara is the real culprit here as you are a child compared to her.

Yeah. I actually spent some time trying to figure out what percentage of the average lifespan of particular animals is considered "mature" (as in, can procreate, essentially). Was thinking of sea turtles since they generally live a long time, but their maturity range is pretty vast (10 to 50 years). And then I spiraled down this wormhole of looking up random animals' sexual maturity range. So, can't wait for that visit from police soon!

That's a hell of a rabbit hole...

Ugh. I wanted to try and capture a stretch of play on XBox One, but apparently you can only record up to 5 minutes at a time.

You can change that. You can now record longer sessions, Check your upload studio settings. I'm not sure off the top of my head where to go and i'm not at my X1 to look. But you can record up to 30 minute clips now.

I think you have to do it like

With the : or it won't work.

I could obviously be very wrong, but I don't think you record footage in that app. When I selected "Record New Clip" or whatever, it took me to the GameDVR which still has a 5 minute recording limit, which lead me to believe you can still only record 5 minutes, but you can string together up to 30 minutes worth of clips to upload.

@Moonray:

Thanks Moonray

@Jet Presto:

You can record longer clips, here are 2 Fall Out 4 videos I made a year ago with the extended recording:

There is a way to do it but it's been a while since I messed with it. I'll have to look at it and get back to you.

What about saving a Twitch broadcast? I have Dooku and I's 5 hour Truth and Reconciliation Halo Adventure saved via twitch on demand.

Yeah, I think that's kinda how I have to do it.

Don't you have to pay for a Twitch account or am I thinking of something else?

You can pay to get perks. But even with a free account you can save videos. You have to create a "clip" from the video, which can actually still be the full length of the video, and it will then be saved forever. But your streams will only be viewable for 30 days.

But then you can transfer a full stream to YouTube pretty easily and use YouTube as permanent storage.

I tried that but I don't think I can upload a five hour video right? Also the file was so large that I couldn't even save it to local storage without getting a Twitch error.

Could always edit those videos into 1 hour chunks and name them part 1, part 2, etc...

Yeah, the solution is to "archive" Twitch streams, then upload them to YouTube. (Granted, for my project, I then need to download off of YouTube, but that's my own problem.)

I'll keep that in mind, I may snag a twitch account at some point then. Always thought you had to pay for it, guess i should have looked into it more.
