Final Fantasies Collide!

I am sweet! And clever! And handsome! I'm just so modest, I don't like when people talk about it!

All RPG discussion welcomed, but beware: strong language draws near! Command?

Coming to the Nintendo Switch!

Hm... Looks like they got the music right this time. And the protagonist actually seems to have a voice and personality again, which is also the correct way to design this sort of game. I don't know how I feel about the more anime look of the characters. It reminds me of the first Xenosaga...

well, I mean...Xenoblade was fully single-player, while XCX was a quasi-MMO. Different type of game.

that said, I'd prefer this to be more like the first so count me in

It makes sense that there'd be some art evolution. The original Xenoblade was some straight up GCN shit, as pretty as the environments were. Also, I couldn't help noticing it looks a little like Breath of the Wild, in terms of shading. Monolith Soft is an internal design house, functionally 1st party, so maybe this is part of the "Official Switch Aesthetic."

XCX obviously got a pretty mixed reception since the story was sparse as fuck, and what little there was was shamelessly stolen from HALO. I mean, I still loved it, but then (for me at least) there are precious few failings you can't cover up with completely customizable flying mecha.

The mounts and the environments look perfectly fine. What I want to talk about is the Monado apparently being both qt grill & sword? That's a bit of a game changer.
