The axems live here.
Guys, I may have found something...
Posted: Posted October 4th, 2016 by Axem Midnight Blue

So... I decided to go looking back through old emails I exchanged with Blue (from TEN YEARS ago... o_O;;) because I'm a masochist who likes to relive the torture of perhaps my best online friend abandoning me, returning, and then abandoning me again without a trace. But in those emails, I discovered a little gem I thought was long lost:

The secret final outline of Axem Records' final 47 episodes, as mentioned by me here:

Now, I'd love to just post them here, because I'm sure everyone is dying to know what happened next, but there're a few things holding me back. They're from AIM chats with Blue nearly a decade ago, and while you guys may think you want to read through my teenage conversations divulging the last of the Records, there's a lot of cringe-worthy dialogue that I'd rather never see the light of day. Aside from that, there's a lot of rewriting and formatting I'd have to do to make it not-be all clogged up with timestamps and typos and whatnot... and, well... lemme go off on an anecdote for a minute:

A long time ago, I began reading a fanfic from one of my favorite series. I became so engrossed in this fanfic that I'd check back every day to see if there were updates, but there almost never were. At some point, the author just... stopped. S/he never gave an explanation, they simply said they weren't going to finish the story, and that was it. I remember emailing them and begging them to continue, but they said it'd been too long since they had started it, and they just didn't have the same mindset anymore to finish what they started. I begged them to at least tell us what they would've written, just to give us closure, but they never replied again.

Then, some years later, they finally actually wrote up an outline of what would've happened in the story. It was somewhat satisfying to know what could've been, but also bittersweet in that we'd never actually be able to read the story unfold how it should have. What's more, after wrapping up the outline, they left the ending in an inconclusive "One of these things is the real ending, and the others are fake" multiple-choice option that still irks me to this day. And that leads me back to Axem Records...

While I have this chunk of the story here, it's not complete. There is a lot missing, but there are some big puzzle pieces that I DO have the answer to. Basically, I can make this outline, and give you guys the answers to -some- things, but you'll never quite see them unfold the way they were meant to... or...

...I could finish writing them.

Now, I don't quite have as much time as Blue did back in the day, so this isn't gonna be an episode a day thing (frankly, it may not even be as frequent as an episode a month), so while you'll be getting the story, it'll take a LONG time to finish. Also, since I'd be writing them from the notes that remain unfinished, that means some gaps are gonna need to be filled in at my discretion, so they wouldn't be Blue's exact story as he had planned out in his mind (but probably damn close). And lastly, if I do this, that means you'll never know exactly what these notes say.

"But MB, why not?"

Because I won't do both. There's no point in releasing the notes to spoil the story, and then writing the story that you guys already know about.

"But can't you just release the notes after you write the story?"

I could, but I won't. I don't want to muddy the waters of what Blue's notes say vs. what I write, and I really don't like the idea of people scrutinizing any liberties I may take in the story. If I do write the story, it all becomes canon, and I don't want there to be a distinction between Blue's canon and my canon, so the only way to do that would be to eradicate anything that causes a distinction; thus, these notes will be for my eyes only.

"But I don't care about that, I want both!"

But I do care, and I won't give both.

"What if you just emailed me the notes, I swear I won't tell anyone about them!"

I can't know that, and I'd still have to rewrite the notes into something coherent, as well as write a whole damn story with it.

"Are you really having a fake Q&A session with yourself over this?"

Shut up.

I don't feel comfortable making this decision for all of us, so... I'm leaving this up to you guys, the infrequent members of the Axem community. Should I release the notes, or write the remaining chapters? I'm taking a vote.

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. Or pretending to, at the very least.

And Blue, if you're still here by any chance, lurking and refusing to post, like the last time you went missing... please contact me somehow. I want your blessing, or your refusal, but mostly I just want to know that you're okay.

I got a bit sad after clicking the title; I was hoping there was news of BLUE after all of these years.

You're a well versed fellow with good hair. Always trust a man with good hair. I say, if you're down for the cause, to write the ending. I think you would be the most qualified, as well as most deserving, of us lot to finish the legacy. If you'd like help, I'm sure there are some Axems with great literary skills.

I am not one of those Axems.

Need someone to tuck you in?

Yes. Take the torch and run.
I hope you get Blue's blessing. There's no reason to think he'd wouldn't at least be amenable. You certainly have ours without a doubt.

And, Blue, we all hope you're well. Drop us a hi sign sometime.

Sure, I wouldn't mind reading it. If you do decide to write out the rest of it, then let us know. I need to re-read them, because I barely remember anything from them.
