Anyone else tried out the PTR?

I'm not liking the fact that there are Hanzos everywhere. I was actually in a comp match where we had a Widow AND a Hanzo, ffs.

I'm liking the buff to Mercy; 76 seems more viable now; Genji can suck my BIC lighter; and Zen isn't the shredder that he was post-patch.

Not sure how I feel about the new map. The first point feels really odd, very close; almost like a flanker paradise. Matches were all over the place. I'll be reading up on positioning and team comps. Overall, decent hybrid map. Thank the gods it isn't another CP.

Just got done with placement; I fell into Diamond at 3131 SR; not too shabby :3 equivalent to low-mid 60's?

Don't really bother with the PTR. I like to see the (relatively finalized) results once they're actually patched in and avoid any of the craziness (Mercy uber-damage).

Good thing you also had an Ana to give inconsistent heals and unexpected damage boosts when your gun is half empty!

I've heard the new map seems biased toward defense. Not necessarily a bad thing in comp since both teams get a chance to attack/defend. But might be weird in quick play since you don't always get to attack/defend depending on when you join the match.

Kinda wish they'd stuck with the 1-100 rankings for another season. Could still have done the tiers.

I wasn't going to try it out at first, but I was eager to see what the fuss was about. They make mini-patches frequently (they fine tune details almost every other day. They've already decreased Hanzo's projectile size by 33%. The Mercy damage-boost that you mentioned didn't last more than 2 days, lol.) You still get a decent feel for how the next patch will feel before it's released.

That's kind of the problem of the new map. Tons of flank routes at Point A, very short distance, but so easy to hold down a chokepoint. Each time we've played in comp on that map, it resulted in a draw (2 total). The general buzz on OW University subreddit seems to hope for some fixes in PTR soon. Visually, very nice looking map.

As far as the new SR system, I'm a huge fan. It was pointless raising/lowering below the threshold of integers; SRs were skewed and you weren't ever too sure exactly where you fell in terms of skill. Now, you can see actual values for each rank. To know the equivalent SR to season 1, just divide by 50.

Sames.

Looking forward to playing on Eichenwalde at any rate. Kinda got to the point where I dislike half the maps in this game already, so I'm just glad there'll finally be something else in the rotation.
