Xhin is listening.

I just want to make this extra clear that I think you should consider making the politics forum follow sitewide jurisdiction and implement hate speech rules instead of doing this election while still keeping it hidden. It really is the option where everyone wins at this point. The thread has become divisive as fuck and there are all kinds of potential problems. No matter who wins someone will have a serious problem with it. So I think this is the really the best course of action. Either this or doing this while still electing a new mod anyway just because that was going to happen anyway.

But if the election still does have to happen though I want to know if that person I mentioned is on the list since they did post more recently once. Also how long will people be allowed to vote? I think you should allow for a week or something just to make sure that everyone gets a chance to get involved.

I would support this as the preferable default, as it was how the site was supposed to be run in the first place. We decided to play nice with Famov in order to not lose him, but now we are talking about removing him from his position anyway. Just cut the fat from the process.

I apologize in advance if I'm brutal today. I have some shit going on in my personal life and may be taking another hiatus soon.

@Xhin: election is supposed to be today right? What's going on exactly with all I said/asked about?

Was supposed to be today, is going to be tomorrow instead.

It's up in the politics/world/religion forum.

@KnokkelMillenium - I voted for you. Hope you get it! If you become mod, you can make rules specific to your own forum. You will have the power to make changes and fix things. I'm here if you need someone to bounce ideas. Mainly, GT should feel a lot more welcoming than it does now, and the forums need to be livable.

@mariomguy That would probably be good but it probably won't happen unless likely Null gets the majority and at that point Famov and Arch don't count for the 2nd mod. Which is hopefully the case at this rate... but ya, if your vote is needed you may need to change it to Null as I will have to if it ends up being needed. Don't throw away the chance for change for my sake. Null may not be the best choice but he'd be better than letting Famov and Arch to keep allowing what they allow. Like I said in the actual thread too.

But ya I'm aware that I don't likely have a chance unless Famov and Arch don't count towards the 2nd mod despite how I may have talked about it for reasons. I've given too many people too many reasons to not believe in me and I totally get why they don't.

Really though Xhin is the one I feel sorry for here. No matter who wins plenty will be unsatisfied.

We can chalk it up to the failure of democracy if you don't become mod. People are just upset at the discussion. Once things change and they realize GT is not Stormfront's backup site, they'll get over it. I don't care what other people think. Hate and discrimination makes everyone from longtime members to new members feel uncomfortable and does not belong on Gametalk in any capacity. If Xhin wants what's best for this site, he has no choice but to do something about it. That forum is our most active forum, and also the worst one.

My vote does not depend on the uninformed votes of others. I trust you will do a better job as mod than anyone else on this site, including existing mods. If anyone disagrees, they're wrong. And if the voting process means I don't go to the world forum, or free speech continues and I have to continue showing people how stupid they are, either way history will make it clear who the winner should've been and we'll get there eventually. Win hard, lose hard, learn hard. No wishy-washy nonsense.

Guidelines. Hard rules is the province of the Content Team.

Mods have the power to ban anybody for any reason, including "obstructing the peace," or what have you. Hate speech falls under that. This is not Stormfront's backup site, unless you want it to be.

They literally don't.

Well with how things are looking and how things might go since the right and/or pro-Famov and Arch people have an easy choice and since the vote may end up a bit too divided I think at least one person deserves to be a new mod in the event that Famov and Arch remain mods because the vote was split a bit too much. ESPECIALLY since the keep option is two mods for one and we have to pick between multiple people.
