I haven't heard any soundbars that I liked. The system is just too small to handle sound properly. Stepping up to a proper Receiver and speakers with speaker wire is the only way to get decent sound in midrange. Otherwise, the subwoofer will get bass, the small sound bar speakers will get tinny highs, but absolutely nothing in-between, which is where human speech lies.

The only sound bar that came close to moderately acceptable was Harmon Kardon, but that's over $1,000. You can get a proper receiver + speakers for half the cost.

I have a 55" Samsung, one of the lower-end 2016 models. It's 4K and runs HDR just fine. I use a simple setup with my Sony Atmos-enabled receiver, and Sony's speakers. It's fully configured for Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound (traditional 5.1 with two up-firing Atmos speakers). The only caveat is the connection to my TV is currently based off a single HDMI cable, which doesn't seem to support Atmos (signal comes through as Dolby Digital, not sure if it's Dolby Digital Plus). Netflix also doesn't seem to support it, either.

IDK what's involved to get Atmos specifically to work, but the sound from a proper receiver/speaker setup is beautiful. You can actually understand what people are saying! Music sounds crisp and clear, too. I can't go back.

MarioMGuy I am using a better soundbar and subwoofer underneath it now. Its better but I still don't hear 100% of the words clearly.

Do any of you have the Netflix app on Xbox? Do you think the sound doesn't always sound 100% clear on it?

What do you watch Netflix on? As an app on your TV? Xbox? Laptop? Desktop PC? Tablet? Phone? Or something else

Also when you're watching films/series on Netflix.... What audio option do you use? English[Original] or English[Original](5.1)

??
