What's the best way to avoid scalpers?

Context: I really wanted the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Console, and I would describe myself as more than casual about it. I checked microsoft's site every day for like 20 days before it got released. But despite my supposed initiative, I still wasn't able to outspeed scalpers who bought all of them and now they're being sold for twice the price on ebay. And like dude, all I want is one xbox at a reasonable price. I feel like my initiative was a total waste of time.

I think there is a website that notifies you when certain consoles or games are on stock.

Nowinstock.net and zooalert I believe?

Are you gonna play it or keep as a collectors item? I was gonna say you might as well wait for x series x, which count be backwards compatible

The best way to avoid them is to find out where it will be in stock and get it as soon as you can. As ShadowFox pointed out already. Nowinstock.net will email you alerts as soon as websites show it as in stock. You could also contact your local GameStop, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy to see if they will call you if they get them in stock and maybe even hold one for you.

A couple years ago when the SNES Classic came out I was the same way. I managed to snag 2 of both the SNES Classic and NES Classic, so that I have one I can play/mod and another as a collectors item that's COB.

Yeah I already have an xbox one x for playing, I just wanted it as a collector's piece because it looks dope.
