Where the past still shines

It was advertised on GT for a long time. Luna.org, was that it? Did anything come of it? I remember it as just being hyped for a while with no details, then just disappearing.

The world forum went there briefly, then came back when luna.org shut down.

It shut down a while back. Probably the biggest problem with it was that it had no moderation whatsoever -- this led to 4channian levels of madness.

I didn't even know it was ever actually operational. Kinda wish I'd checked it out at least once; I like wild west sites like that.

Say what?

The word "gumba" also became a banned word on GT for a while, though idk why.

The word was banned before the murder happened. He probably just banned the word because he was a spammer.

I really don't remember seeing him post on GT. When did people here find out about this?

Fox is right. They banned "gumba" as some sort of ill conceived attempt of erasing him from the site. Instead they turned him into Lord Voldemort, unecessarily heightening the mystique of a very troubled young man.

I remember the news of Stuart's crime really getting under Masse's skin. I didn't understand at the time why he felt any responsibility for someone he'd never actually met, but I think I get it now.

The moron got caught because he left his address in the murder bag. HIS ADDRESS.

I don't really recall how people knew it was him, exactly. I think his identification was tied to a blog or something similar before the murder. But he would come around from time to time to get around the ban and spam, but after the date of the murder he stopped posting.

Well I am glad he's in jail. hopefully he never gets out.

He might be out in 5 years.

I wonder how people initially reacted. FFS

I honestly don’t remember hearing anything about this.

Wasn't there another attempt to re-launch luna.org back in 2006?

Posted April 9th by Post-Wall Olga

I always found it strange that Gumba was the only spammer on the swear filter. GT only had a new one everyday.

Posted April 12th by Elite

Squid was on the spam filter

Posted April 12th by Brandy

Thought it was gamedex.

Posted April 12th by Weid man

Squid being on the spam filter sure was annoying when you were talking about the giant blooper from mario sunshine.

IIRC, Gamedex was a concept from Mike's time that was suppose to be a sister site that would function like Gamefaqs or IGN, with different reviews, cheats, walkthroughs, etc for each game linked into the spacific forum (this is when GT had thousands of individual forums for every game ever created, most completely empty). Nothing ever know how came from it, though. I don't know how far Mike managed to go with it, but it never launched further then a logo, a"coming soon" page, and broken links.

You had to defeat Gooper blooper three times in Mario sunshine (episodes 1 and 5 in ricco harbor and episode 2 in noki Bay) by pulling his nose off.

Squid blooper pro loves SMS while pirate ninja thinks it’s the worst 3D Mario game. I only minded the fact that it had half as many levels as 64 had. Controls were nifty though.

Holy shit. Gumba murdered someone???

I used GT since the year it opened and never knew that.
CRAZY how he’s still talked about to this day, haha.

When did GT open? I joined late I joined in 2003. Could have had a much better life if I joined before then. Cyber addictions are great even if you become a stalker like me. I got banned multiple times on Mike’s gametalk by super smash fan because he couldn’t tolerate me at all.

Gumbo stabbed someone to death
