Do people not post video game news anymore? This used to be where I get my news actually. Even when I banned myself I would lurk and read game articles here.

We need ?huh? back man.

Hopefully when we get new people in making the politics forum members only will help bring in more activity here again.

We aren't going to get new members. This forum format is archaic and nostalgic. It has no appeal to new members even if you get rid of the unforgivables from public view. They have other, and frankly better options out there on the internet. Even if you turn world into a half-hidden hell board, it's still going to be the most active place on gtx0.

Literally the only benefit to coming here is having discussions with people from Mike's gametalk.

I assume you can see the irony in this post?

What's the point in creating discussion if so little care though? Plus he said that he checks for news. If it's no longer coming in, it's already lacking something even without him posting a video game thread.

I do see the irony. I am not what you would consider a GT regular, Moon. I have been back for a week after not posting since June, and before that I think I last posted in like February. As an outsider looking in, I am just telling people where the site's shit stinks.

I would happily contribute news posts to both world and boxcube, but on the video game side of things I am not sure where to source such articles. I could probably easily contribute to world if I was more interested in modern politics.

I follow Halo news closely, along with PUBG and Sea of Thieves because that's most of what I play. But I don't get the impression that many here are interested in those facets of the industry so I don't post much about them here.

I am interested in Halo. Sea of thieves honestly looks boring and is a sad reminder of how far Rare has fallen. I'd like to see them do a Perfect Dark game for 2020 which is the year the original Perfect Dark is set in.

I will make my next news article about Halo for sure.

?huh? didn't actually encourage discussion, though. There would be hot topics that people wanted to discuss, but those posts would get pushed off the front page because ?huh? posted like 20 threads a day. And it would just be TONS of copy+pasted news.

It would've been better for him to focus on a couple stories a day for independent threads and put the rest in a single daily digest.

It's true that ?huh? was grating. But he had endearing qualities too. He clearly cared about this place and largely kept it afloat by himself. He was knowledgable and would always help out if you had a question.

Would you rather have 0 news posts?

There should be a happy medium between discussions getting pushed off the front page in <1 day and crickets. Whenever people tried to bring it up to him, he got all defensive.

I am not gonna argue with that. But maybe the kind of activity that pushes your shit off the first page sooner rather than later is actually a good thing. Old shit stagnates.

No, this was the case for all discussions. If you wanted to discuss a post, you better do it the same day the thread was made, otherwise it would get pushed off forever. And that was before we had a newest replies/site feed to see what posts have activity. This wasn't old shit, this was a thread that just started today, and is now gone. Most of ?huh?s posts did not have any replies on them for this reason. And his posts would take up half the entire forum!

We should have some news stuff on here for sure, but it ought to be meaningful, not spam.

I usually try to post news, but I have been busy the past month.
