In order to promote a healthier and more unified GameTalk by way of simplifying the structure of the staff and site policies, the Content Team has decided to abolish the convention of local rules and local moderation. As of the time of the [Staff Revisions], there are no more local moderators. This announcement represents the other half of that move: removal of the local rules.

No one forum can or will be protected territory that is subject only to the action (or inaction) of local moderators. What happens in one forum can very easily affect other forums and the health of the site overall; in response, global moderation has been assigned to deal with a global issue. With the backing of the updated and concise Global Rules, any of the Global Moderators are able to take action against infractions quickly and efficiently, with no pointless bureaucracy or territorial red tape, regardless of the location.

Local rules that are deemed to be exceedingly useful may be upgraded to global rules. Users that wish to use modlike tools to contribute to their home forum may be promoted to a new position such as 'trusted contributor". The Content Team is open to any and all suggestions regarding how to move forward with orphaned conventions such as these. Please proceed to the lovely [Feedback Forum] with your pitchforks and torches.

Have a nice day.

Fertile is the mind tilled with steel.

He's not supposed to be. Though I don't know who has the tools to actually remove a moderator from a forum.

Don’t delete my rule document in RPG Chat; there are important forum-specific rules about what’s fair game in role-plays and such.

I might leave a longer comment here after work. Overall I generally agree with stepping in this direction.

Local guidelines will remain in place for that purpose.

He is not on the staff. It's just that no-one has gone around to the forums to edit the headers yet. Thank you for pointing that out.

The actual documents will stay up for as long as needed to facilitate the formation of local guidelines or additional global rules.

Before anyone sends me a bunch of emails, I approve of these changes. Moreover I implicitly approve of whatever the Content Team does in general since I'm the one who put them in charge of these widespread site changes.
