End of an era. One of the most influential artists of our time and a cultural force to be reckoned with.

It was going to happen. The man was 95 years old! He seemed to really enjoy the final years, too. He will be missed.

95 is better than any pf us can home for. Still sad, though. He always seemed so upbeat and optimistic.

He was a superhero in his own right.

That paragraph is amazing!

He was a legend and I wish he never died.

My wife asked would I pay $5 a month forever to keep him alive and I said heck yeah.

Thing about Stan Lee was his capacity to change. Dude was always a little full of himself, and that sometimes made him unlikeable. When he finally did start giving Steve Ditko proper credit for the creation of Spider-man, which wasn't something he always did, he became infinitely more likeable. I always feel artists never got enough credit for the creation of characters, and almost every artist Stan Lee worked with fell far short of that because of his giant shadow. But certainly in later years, he was more open and willing to give them the credit he largely took for himself for a long time.

Dude basically co-created half of the superhero comic universe, saw the industry take off again, saw it crash real hard and almost die off, and then saw it become the cultural and economic powerhouse that it has become in the past two decades. Pretty interesting life.

I do hope that they don't digitally insert him into every movie going forward, though. Always found his cameos to be a bit distracting, and an uncanny valley CGI Stan Lee will certainly be that too.

Excelsior, Stan Lee.

I imagine they will probably dedicate Infinity War Part II to him and whatever cameos he already filmed will be kept. Maybe they will do like Deadpool 2 (where just a bust of his head was in the movie). I can't imagine they will make a CGI character. I hope they won't do that.
