New netflix ratings in the top left corner at the screen are pissing me off, is there any way to disable them?

Hi Netflix has recently been updated, when I watch a show an age rating icon appears in the top left corner for about 10 seconds and its pissing me off.

Whether its U, PG, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 or 21 I don't give a shit about it. I'm a grown ass man, I don't need Netflix to babysit me. How the Hell do I turn these Turkey based age ratings off? They get in the way of the show I'm watching.

I'm paying to watch Netflix and I don't like these stupid age notifications getting in the damn way.

Do any you tech people know how to turn it off?

Hmm I haven't noticed this happening on mine (but I'm in the UK so maybe this hasn't been introduced to us yet). I'll check when I am at home later but my guess would be there probably isn't a way to turn this off as most "grown ass men" will not view this as an issue.

I'm in the UK too, it started happening last night. Its annoying because whenever I watch a show the age rating symbol is brightly coloured and stays in the top left corner for about 10 seconds and whenever I pause the show and then unpause it the symbol appears for 10 seconds in the top left corner every time and its pissing me off. Plus the top left corner of the screen is slightly darkened for 10 seconds every time too.

Just try it out for yourself and see what I mean.

I'm paying £8.99 to use this service and I want to watch shows without stupid unnecessary logos getting in the way.

There should be an option to disable it. I have complained to Netflix live chat staff about it and they said they are working on the issue.

Next time I watch something I'll see if it's doing it.

Does it go away after those 10 seconds? Or does it stay on or come and go? Also, does it happen with movies, or just when you watch an episode of a television show?

After the 10 seconds it goes away but if I pause it then unpause it, it comes back for 10 seconds again. Like sometimes when I turn the subtitles on because its not always obvious what's being said in an American accent, I unpause it and that stupid age rating comes back on in the top left corner.

It happens on everything. Movies and television shows.

If the age rating is in the program description while on the pause menu, it doesn't need to keep appearing in the top left corner while I'm trying to immerse myself in watching the show.

Yeah, from what I'm seeing online, it sounds like Netflix added the ratings to when you play a show or movie because of criticism that they don't have to abide by the same standards as television. I suppose the argument is that they have an unfair advantage in being able to effectively "broadcast" things without having to make clear what their ratings are or whether they might be appropriate for certain age ranges, the way that television networks are required to. But I haven't seen anything that indicates a way to turn it off.
