So I just finished watching the 10 episodes of season 1 and I ultimately liked it, but the final reveal left something to be desired. The show starts off really strongly with the three main characters waking up in a brick room with no memories of who they are or what's going on. The trio knows as much as the audience which makes the first episodes really cool. As the show progresses, the trio are given a specific item to retrieve and along the way they try to figure out where they are and how they got there.
The reveal that it was all a video game was an interesting take on it all, but it was hindered by the FINAL reveal in that the three CHOSE to be in the game as part of some game show, I think. The last few minutes cut to live action people and it's there that show fell flat for me. Up until this point, everything has been one big mystery and the trio have been trying to solve it since episode one. The fact that it's a VR game they chose to play just made they mystery seem less interesting. I think it would have been cooler if, after completing the final level, they were sent to another game or they woke up in a still animated world and have no idea where they are.
Ultimately, I do suggest giving this show a watch.
