We're gonna need a bigger boat.

As with most forms of media I think anime has a ratio of about 1 good show in about 90. Here is a short list of my favorites:

Hellsing
Claymore
.Hack//Sign (and NONE after that! - Liminality is ok)
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni/Kai (NOT Rei or Kira (except that one episode at the end of Kira))
Future Diary
Baccano!
Aria The Animation/Natural/Origination

Baccano!

I've only struggled through like 3 animes in my lifetime. From what I've watched, they generally suck to the point where I'd rather watch a CBS police procedural. I started Mushi-shi, though, and so far it's pretty good

Oh for the love of christ on a bun how could I have forgotten Mushi-shi?!

is .hackk//sign a video game as well? I remember it being big in elementary but knew very little about it.

@poptart! check out Hunter X hunter. Bare with it though as its a slow start (I am sure you have chugged through worse)

.hack//sign is a multi-medium story. The first part (sign) is a 24 episode anime taking place in a fictional MMORPG. The second part is a 4-ps2-game series called .hack//infection .hack//mutation .hack//outbreak and .hack//quarantine respectively. Happening at the same time as the video games is an out-of-game anime called .hack//liminality which ultimately plays a large part in the climax of quarantine. As far as I'm concerned this is the only storyline in the .hack franchise worth making your way through. All the others are just riding the money train.

Guess Ill give it a watch. Its been in the back of my mind for years but I have never seen any one bring it up until now. (been a good 16-17 years.)

Just so I make myself clear, by "only storline in the .hack franchise worth making your way through" I meant the 24 episode anime, 4 video games, and liminality together. The ones that are riding the money train are .hack//legend of the twilight bracelet, .hack//roots, .hack//G.U., .hack//returner, .hack//quantum, .hack//the movie and whatever the freak else they crapped out after the initial work of art got the recognition it deserved.

The only hack series I enjoyed was Legend of the Twilight. .hack//roots was okay, but I found the main character to be somewhat annoying. I forget his name.

For me, it's probably Cory In The House.

Edit: Cory In The House

They should make an anime explaining what happens after kingdom hearts ii for those of us who don’t have time to play the 20+ games precluding KHIII

Oh no, not another Cory in the House reference. That shit is getting old dude. It was funny until it lasted.

My favorite’s though, in no particular order:
07-Ghost
Snow White with the Red Hair
Kuroko’s Basketball
Noragami
Seraph of the End
Hakuoki
Bungo Stray Dogs
Yona of the Dawn
Naruto series. Except for Boruto; I dropped it.

I haven’t been watching much Anime lately.
