Here is the excerpt on President Trump's reaction on Ex-Attorney General Jeff Session's appointment of Robert Mueller on Page 290:

On May 17, 2017, Acting Attorney General Rosenstein appointed Robert S. Mueller, ITT as Special Counsel and authorized him to conduct the Russia investigation and matters that arose from the investigation. The President learned of the Special Counsel's appointment from Sessions, who was with the President, Hunt, and McGahn conducting interviews for a new FBI Director. Sessions stepped out of the Oval Office to take a call from Rosenstein, who told him about the Special Counsel appointment, and Sessions then returned to inform the President of the news. According to notes written by Hunt, when Sessions told the President that a Special Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, "Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I' m fucked." The President became angry and lambasted the Attorney General for his decision to recuse from the investigation, stating, "How could you let this happen, Jeff?" The President said the position of Attorney General was his most important appointment and that Sessions had " let [him] down," contrasting him to Eric Holder and Robert Kennedy. Sessions recalled that the President said to him, "you were supposed to protect me," or words to that effect. The President returned to the consequences of the appointment and said, "Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency. It takes years and years and I won't be able to do anything. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me."

My favorite part is when Trump scolded his lawyer for taking notes. Like, what?

Anyway, it's a pretty bad report that actually serves to highlight how shady and corrupt this administration has largely always been, even on the campaign. By the report itself, it notes that several members - including Don Jr. - actively agreed to meetings that they knew in advance were about using stolen material from the Russians, while at other times, they do not.

It *also* shows how problematic Barr is as an attorney general on this case, and how - apart from never having been approved for the position - should have recused himself. We now get a chance to see some pretty intentional ways that Barr has been working with the Administration to ease the blows. Everything about Barr's handling of this has been hugely questionable, and overtly corrupted.

Trump will be fine, though. It might resonate with some voters and he could lose the 2020 election, but it's hard to imagine any Republicans in the House or Senate giving a shit about overt corruption and genuinely undemocratic activities from this administration.

(But I am reminded of all the outrage when Bill Clinton met Loretta Lynch on the tarmac and how controversial that was.)

I am hoping the full report is available before the 2020 election.

Trump won’t be impeached, nor will the Russia shit go anywhere. But the day he is no longer president, he is going to be indicted out the ass for financial crimes. That’s why he is now going to do everything he can to remain president even though he likely never intended to actually become president in the first place.

Slight correction: they might try to get him impeached on obstruction charges since they actually have something there.

For nearly two years, many people relied on the Mueller report as some kind of magic would that would make the Trump fascist presidency disappear. It hasn't and will not happen.

Ultimately, it's not because of Trump's alleged ties to Russia that his regime must go. Trump and his regime are Fascist and that's why they must go.

^On top of that, if Dems go for impeachment and fail to remove him from office, they will have wasted all their political capital for no reason right before a presidential election that they’re already poorly prepared for. And if they succeed, we get President Mike Pence.

Trump needs to be *voted* out of office by the *people*, not forced out by a bunch of creepy bureaucrats like Robert Mueller. Btw Mueller was one of the main people responsible for lying us into the Iraq War when he was FBI director under Bush. I simply don’t trust him or the “deep state” institutions. They have lied to us too much in the past. Why should anyone take them at their word?

On a more insidious note, this Russia collaboration spectacle has diverted and stupefied the populace into becoming passive spectators at the worst possible time; what is needed trenchant, nonviolent resistance, demanding Trump be deposed.

In January 2017, Keith Olbermann made a rant that exemplified Trump Derangement Syndrome: the instinctive hatred of Trump coupled with the delusion that Russia put him in power. This, I would ascribe to as nothing more than a projection on their part, the hatred of empowering Trump caused by the conditions they created: a transfer of wealth, more wars under Obama topped off with an overwhelmingly despised, entitled candidate who was so vapid that she allowed a clown like Trump to win the election. The media, in presenting this pathetic, anti-Russian display, has only pacified the people, preventing them from rising, and protesting Trump with this false display of defiance against Trump.

Becoming spectators instead of facing the fact that Trump is a fascist and that his regime has slowly been centralizing power and that, without any resistance, will continue to consolidate it.

This regime is an undisguised fascist dictatorship. Now that Robert Mueller won't press charges, Trump and his fascists are out for blood. The masses of people all over the world are their targets. They're determined to end abortion rights, they are trying to deprive immigrants and Muslims of their humanity, they're supporting police brutality against black and brown youth, they're going after their political rivals, they're destroying the environment with a disregard not seen before.

The Democrats aren't leftists, they're not our allies in the goal of ridding ourselves of Trump, and we can't count on them to deal with it.

Jeeze, Trump is definitely a fascist. Obviously, he can't have all the power that a despot in a traditional fascist government would have but he's still a fascist.

Proto-fascist seems more fitting still tbh. I really don't think he's a literal fascist but that doesn't make him good at all either.
