I can't speak for PS4 sales, but the Xbox store has really good deals for the holidays, and usually there is a good summer and spring sale too. People often act like discs can be found much cheaper, and sometimes they can, but I've found great digital sales consistently over the past 5 years.

I’ve also found myself buying more and more games through digital purchases, usually through some kind of sale or when they are free each month.

Making it a point to not buy anything until I'm at least 3/4ths through my backlog, as well as halfway through my replay project (where I intend to replay every video game I own and review them to see whether they hold up or not).
My thinking is, by the time I get to actually have time to play Wolfenstein II, I will easily be able to get it for cheap.

I’ve given up trying to get caught up on my back log for now, and I’ve been itching to get HZD for a while. I figured I’d pick up the other 2 games as well since they were cheap. But yeah, within a couple years they will all be cheap on Amazon.

I wish the ps4 didnt require you to install game data. I have a few games I've been wanting to play lately, but I've used up all my memory space for Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, FFX/X-2 HD, Kingdom Hearts HD collection, Nier Automota, Spider-Man 2018, Fallout 76, and Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist.

Can you not uninstall games you're not going to play for a while and reinstall them later?

Riku, as Vandy just pointed out, can you delete any games that you aren’t playing? If you delete just the application data you won’t lose your save files, allowing you to redownload the game later and continue your progress.
Also, you can plug an external Hard drive into your PS4 for extended storage. I currently have an additional 500GB external attached to my PS4. My X1 has a 4 TB plugged into it.
I know amazon has some cheap prices for external storage right now.

It's not really about having time. It's about making time!
And yeah, with PS4, I'm constantly having to delete install files to make room for new games, but you just re-install them again later if you want to go back to play those games you just deleted. It doesn't delete your save files or anything. Those are separate. That said, it is kind of annoying. It's an inconvenience, for sure.

=Sleep is more important (happy)
=I downloaded Titan Fall 2 not too long ago and I was shocked at just how small 500 gb of space is. I had to uninstall some games before I could download it. I feel that 1 terabyte may not be enough if you go completely digital.

I have to sacrifice sleep to have good time to play. Even then it's like 1-2 hours.

That's very admirable. I'd love to be able to have a replay project like that. I keep a log going of my games and I want to have an 80% start/completion rate. My rate of owned games being completed is at like 45% but my rate of games started being completed is like 67.8%.

=For me a significant amount of time must pass before I could do that. I dont think I could replay every game I ever owned though. Maybe the big stand outs like the Mass Effect Trilogy, TLOU, Breathe of the Wild.

Yeah I doubt I'd want to replay every single game. Like 007 for Game Boy I doubt I'd play again. Heavy hitters for sure.

1 TB is totally fine, but it just comes with that inconvenience. You don't lose the games you buy digitally if you wind up deleting the install file for them. (That said, iTunes has in fact lost a number of albums I purchased digitally before, telling me I have to buy them again, so digital only just fundamentally makes me uneasy.
That's very admirable. I'd love to be able to have a replay project like that.
I've been doing this project for about three years or four years by now. So. It's very time consuming. I have reviewed almost 120 games in this process. I generally started with the RPGs to get the reeeeeally time consuming ones out of the way. But I still have a few more to go. I'm also doing this with my movie collection, in which I have reviewed 75 movies, though those obviously take less time (and movies tend to age a little bit better than video games a lot of the time - though that isn't to say every movie does.)
For me a significant amount of time must pass before I could do that. I dont think I could replay every game I ever owned though.
Most of the games I'm replaying, I haven't touched in a decade. The rest I really haven't played in five years. I just finished Ni no Kuni, which was one of the newer RPGs I've finished, and that game is what, 5 years old? I also just finished Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions which is 8 years. And then it's really just a lot of PS2 games. I've kind of structured it a bit more in recent years as retrospective series. Like I replayed all the Uncharted games (which I haven't played since they came out) in preparation for Uncharted 4 when that happened. I did a Final Fantasy retrospective series. I started a Call of Duty one, and now I'm sort of working on a Spider-man retrospective, since I really wanted to play Spider-man PS4.
I don't complete every game, especially some of those more arcade-y type games like Simpsons Road Rage or Skateboarding, and I largely haven't spent too much time on party games like some Wii games or Rock Band type stuff. Just long enough to see how the games hold up.

I just started HZD last night. Didn’t get too far at all really, Aloy is still a child and I just found the ear piece that lets you see all the holograms. But whoever said this game has not story and plot obviously hasn’t played it as the first 10 minutes is nothing but story and plot lol.

I dunno that the issue is it has no story. I think the argument was always that it was kind of a weak one. (I personally didn't have many issues with it. I quite liked it, but I understand many of the criticisms.)

Well so far the story doesn’t seem weak but I think that’s always subjective. I personally don’t like a game that focuses way more on story than gameplay, but like I said I haven’t gotten to play that much of HZD yet to really get a good grip on its balance.
Those that have played it, without spoiling the story, how well did you like it?

I liked it and the characters quite a bit! I was maybe a little less crazy about the *way* the story was unveiled at times, but I liked it.

=“I was maybe a little less crazy about the *way* the story was unveiled at times, but I liked it. ”
Honestly this is probably the most relatable statement I’ve seen recently. A lot of games fit this discription for me where they have a good story but get caught up on how to tell it.
