"Fear is the foundation of most governments." - John Adams

"My family is more important than my party." - Zell Miller

Here are some things I've learned:

  • Trying to communicate with people who don't speak your language natively is *hard*. Being trained by them even moreso. I maybe understand better the frustrations of people that barely speak English and are trying to live and work here.

  • These people work ridiculously hard and ridiculously fast. I've always been top-tier fast with physical work, but these people are somehow impossibly faster. American coworkers work hard too but they definitely don't work fast.

  • All my American coworkers are obese, many morbidly obese. My Latino coworkers are jacked as fuck, maybe a little overweight if female.

i used to work graveyard shift stocking shelves at a 24 hour gracery store. the latino workers were the one who stocked the frozen/refrigerator sections, which were less desirable since your hands were always cold. i don't know why that was. i got to know one of them a bit despite something of a language barrier.
