I'd rather not risk getting trampled to death by greedy assholes. Besides, plenty of stores give discounts on their websites, too. Just check out Amazon.

=daaam. they fucked you in the ass more ways than one. {;)}
=I worked for walgreens a number of years. We had to come in for Thanksgiving (we closed at 6pm) and of course we had to be there the next day as well. Believe it or not we had our own "black friday" discounts and sales.
=Those were hellish days. I was shocked at the number of people that would come out for some last minute shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. That shock turned into annoyance after the 5th customer looked at me sympathetically and said something along the lines of " OMG! I cant believe they are making you work Thanksgiving!!!!! Why are they having you work today!!!!".... because of idiots like you lady.
=The black friday sales would be just as bad. The couponers would come out in full force. Dragging carts and carts of items.
The worst part of it all (or working retail in general) is that all the songs are played in a loop. Walgreens caters to a specific demographic, middle age/ older folk, and as a result we had some trash music playing. "Whats New Pussycat" by Tom Jones is straight nightmare torture fuel and can elicit PTSD over long periods of time.

I went Black Friday shopping just once 7 years ago. It was one of the most disgusting things I'd ever witnessed. I was in Georgia outside of Atlanta at the time. Fairly small town. That didn't stop people from piling in, ripping into displays before the allowed time, and fighting over thing. The line was also literally 45 mins long with every lane open. Didn't enjoy one minute of it and I swore I'd never do another midnight Black Friday event again.

=If you are going out tonight be safe. I myself will be wrapped up in a blanket reading or watching a movie.
I generally don't or wait for Cyber Monday deals so I don't got to deal with people who forget how to act like decent person to save money (or waste more in some cases).
This morning I went to go grocery shopping around 10 am at the local Walmart and expected to be awful. To my surprise it was the opposite so I can confirm what you mentioned about re-stocking.
That I heard/read reports sales were more than just one day so the smart folks took advantage of them earlier so they wouldn't have to deal with it.

You should only be allowed to go into a store on Black Friday if you have worked customer service jobs before.

A lot of people don't realize that the sales continue all day long. Today, I found a 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive from Best Buy for $25. Read speed at 100 MB/s. Awesome deal! I can store ALL my most important files on my keys and have plenty of room to spare!
But more importantly, I replaced my horrific Raijintek fan with the cheap $10 Insignia PC fan (on sale for $8), and that was the greatest buy of the day! I was shocked to see the performance numbers on the box (13 dB minimum, 18 dB maximum, 1200 RPM, 44 CFM), but when I pushed my PC on a light bake you can barely hear it running! I bought another so I can fill my case with high quality quiet fans. Now it finally feels the way I want it to!

=“A lot of people don't realize that the sales continue all day long.“
A lot of people don’t realize that stores run just as good of if not better deals a few weeks before Christmas to clear out stock and catch last minute shoppers.
There is also Cyber Monday deals that you don’t have to leave the house for.
I will say that I picked up a pair of black Under Armour tactical boots that are normally around $150 for $50 at the Under Armour store today. The best online deal I can find for the same pair is around $80 not including shipping so sometimes you do get lucky going out to the malls.

Yes. Black friday is just the beginning of ongoing sales through the new year.
