I took the quiz at isidewith.com and here are my results.
I agree:
90% with Elizabeth Warren;
90% with Bernie Sanders;
89% with Tom Steyer;
89% with Pete Buttigieg;
87% with Amy Klobuchar;
85% with Tulsi Gabbard;
85% with Andrew Yang;
83% with Joe Biden;
79% with Michael Bloomberg;
77% with John Delaney, whoever he is;
and
23% with Donald Trump.

—————

I’d probably be pretty happy with any of those first seven (the ones I agree with 85% or more).

—————

A poll among New Hampshire Democrats reportedly found that 70% of them would prefer an extinctions-causing comet or asteroid strike the Earth over having Donald Trump re-elected.

But anyway I now know the names of ten people I’d be happier with than him.

There are 10 Replies

This just in New Hampshire Democrats are retarded. More at 11pm.

When Stephen Colbert said about this poll, he asked (with apparent concern), “New Hampshire Democrats, are you O.K.?”

Anyway I think “more” is going on the air at 8 pm, not 11.

93% Steyer
92% Buttigieg
89% Yang
88% Klobuchar
77% Biden
69% Delaney

Care to say your best match? I can believe it though. Not that I feel like it's saying much since I don't care much for this test but you don't seem to fit in well with any of the main non-third party candidates.

This algorithm is wild.

I got a breakdown of this:

96% - Pete Buttigieg
95% - Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren
93% - Tom Steyer
92% - Amy Klobuchar
89% - Joe Biden
85% - Tulsi Gabbard
7% - Donald Trump (literally because I said we should fund public transportation, which I imagine Trump has probably cut funding for)

I honestly can't tell if they understand who any of these people are. How on Earth do you not distinguish between Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders? I get to a conservative, anyone left of center is "basically the same level of socialist" or whatever, but like, what?

The app has a feedback “button” (or some such thing) by which you can tell them what you think is inaccurate about the test, or otherwise how to improve it. They want to hear from people who use it, what they like about and what they dislike about it.

Also, they tell users that the more questions they answer, the more reliable their proposed match will be.

I answered all questions in all but one section. In the other section I got to a spot where I just didn’t know how to answer for several questions in a row, and decided to skip to the next section.
For many, maybe most, of the questions, I didn’t know how to answer the “How important is this to you?” 5-place slider. I knew what to answer when it was really important to me; but for many (most?) of the other questions, I didn’t know how to rank their importance to me.

So if it was about the environment or health (especially infectious diseases) or income inequality or electoral reform, I said “most important”. I may have also said “most important” for some other issues, like pro-choice and marriage equality and staying in the multilateral international alliances and organizations we are in, or were in until Trump. Maybe there were others I just can’t remember right now.

———

Who do you agree with 80% of the time?
(For most people, agreeing with someone five sixths of the time is sufficiently close to marry them, other criteria being satisfactory.)
