I saw a huge friggen falling star

It's Leonids night and I saw a huge meteor!

The thing did not just look like your average streak across the sky. It looked kinda like a sparkler that just appeared and disappeared.

Did anybody else see anything?

How big was it compared with a full moon in the sky? I didn't know about it. Meteors strike the atmosphere all the time. But that one might have been too fast to take pic of, or look at thru your telescope.

Actually I don't know. This was the first time I ever went meteor watching and that was the first one I've ever actually seen!

They have these meteor nights every other month or so. Here's a schedule: https://stardate.org/nightsky/meteors

I would've thought telescopes were bad for meteor showers. Like trying to snipe a bullet out of the air without knowing where the next shot is coming from.

Otherwise if a telescope is liable to find one or two by sheer chance I'll be sure to set mine and my camera up the next clear night shower I get.
