After some horrible matches in ranked (toxicity from teammates; ranging from "save your sweet words, we aren't here to make friends" when saying 'hello' on mic, to flaming me when stated that I'm not good at DPS when we actually had all spots filled. You know, we won and tied a few games. Every game had some shit mixer, though. This is the kind of shit I'd expect from LoL. This has gone from my favorite game of all time to a mess of negative emotions in just two short weeks. I instantly uninstalled after my last game tonight.

I just had to get it off my chest. Pretty bummed out, man.

edit: now I'm back, of course. Just deal with shitlords and they'll shut the hell up.

I always mute everyone when playing Halo online by myself. For the few good people you may come across, majority will be awful people that can potentially turn you off of playing the game at all. I have a lot more fun this way.

Normally I would.. but the game requires communication and teamwork. Ideally, I'd want everyone on the team to speak on the mic. It's entirely a team based effort. When you get a player with a shitty attitude, they will always blame the team for mistakes instead of realizing their own (because trust me, we all fuck up multiple times a match), or refuse to coordinate because they have the mentality that they can win the game (thus getting picked off easily by playing too aggressive), or brings team morale down with their shit attitude. It's absolutely ridiculous what one toxic player can do to an entire team.

My personal favorite is insta-lock offense mains who demand that you play tank or healer. And Hanzo mains.

On the whole I'm not enjoying Season 2 as much as I did Season 1. The ranking system is janky as hell, and I've had matches where I lost the equivalent of more than an entire Season 1 rank (-68 points). Rumor is that they narrowed how far up you could place in pre-qualifying, so most people ended up in gold or platinum. Even if they were actually grand-master players last season or terrible players. Which seems to have resulted in a lot of matches for me where my team stomps or gets stomped mercilessly as the game tries to get everyone where they actually belong. But it makes it really frustrating.

I've had only a few friends who placed in silver/diamond after placement, but most in gold and a decent amount plat. It's really hard to see where you fall in those 10 games, anyway; getting master rank means you've effectively carried a majority of the games with the highest hidden score factors. That -68 is super harsh; I've never had one that large. Was it after a consecutive losing streak?

All-in-all, losing matches doesn't bother me. It's certain players who act as though they're elite (and clearly aren't whatsoever) that ruin the game with their horrible attitudes. Losing sucks. Losing with a shitlord or more on your team every game is the last straw.

I've talked with some friends and honestly, taking a break for a few days is probably best. I love the game and just have to realize that the LoL-typical players will be there regardless of frequency. Gotta mute them and pretend you've never heard a thing. Well, mute their in-game chat; these kids never speak up on mic, ironically enough.

That rant over/

A lot of the time that I played CS:GO, I had voice chat turned off. Not that I muted people, I literally had voice_enable 0 in my config.

The teenaged meme-loving scum that infests these games are fundamentally broken people.

I was just looking through Steam profiles today while I was bored/keeping my Cajun ass inside with the 30 degree weather. A lot of younger people had their profiles filled out like a MySpace page :/ profile picture of themself, list of conditions to be met for them to accept a friend request, and lots of CS:GO screenshots/memes in the comments, as if it was a Facebook wall. I instantly felt old as the fuck.

I guess every competitive muliplayer game has its own peanut gallery
