I finished Route A for Nier Automata (again)
Posted: Posted January 26th by -Riku-

So I had beaten route A before, but accidentally overwrote it with my livestream file. But I got through it again today. I was around level 36 when I completed it and had clocked in roughly 16.5 hours of gameplay. I just met Jackass on route B, though I'm gonna go explore the dessert area some more. I have endings AGIJU thus far. Does anyone know where to get the items needed to upgrade your pods and where to get the hacking chips?

most of the pod upgrade materials are normal items you find around from random spawn points, aside from the Powerup Part items. IIRC, those are mostly sidequest rewards (so watch your map for available sidequests) or inside locked chests (meaning you need to be playing as 9S). You need to progress pretty far to get all the upgrades (beyond route A, for one).

the hardest part (if you're going for all pod upgrades) is the Elaborate Gadgets, though - as random pickups go they're quite rare, and while you can get most/all you need from sidequests, one of them is the most difficult/involved quest in the game (get your "defeated enemy types" log data to 95% completion).

chip drops vary by what you kill so it depends what chip you're after - I never really went looking for specific chips, and just killed pretty much everything I encountered (which was plenty to complete the game). You should start finding hacking-related ones in route B.

I found some hi-jack chips and they're worthless. 95% of the time, I just blow up my enemies when I hack them. I thought the chips would make the hacking mini games easier cause some of them are pretty damn hard

yeah hacking can be pretty hit or miss. I just focused on health regeneration chips, damage chips and speed chips.

what weapons are you using?

I used the Demon Cry gauntlets and the type 40 blade.

the baseball like animation when you pair these two in combat is A1 af.

I'm using both type-3 swords for 9s.

Also the chip I use are movement speed 4, auto item, shockwave 3, deadly heal 4, weapon attack 4, and I believe exp 4

I might replace the experience chip for a range damage chip since 9S isn't as combat oriented as 2B.

Do you really think you can win?

Win against what? Also, where can I get pure water?

For pure water I found a bunch in the underground areas after the terrain changes.

reminder that there's literally a trophy for checking out 2B's butt

(also for having 9S run around without his pants)

So how would I do that? Outside of the dlc costumes
