How old is Child Link in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time?

Miyamoto has given several different ages, but I think the most recent was 9 years old. Which makes sense, since Skyward Sword is supposed to be the oldest Link, and he's 17 and a half.

According to the debug rom it states Link is 7 but during an interview Iwata Asks for Ocarina of Time 3D, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that Link is about 12. Although in previous interviews Miyamoto has stated that Link is 9 or 10. Seems like the old man is confused and can't make his mind up.

Also Eiji Aonuma is the producer, director and project manager of The Legend of Zelda series.

In the words of Eiji Aonuma:

"Link’s supposed to be about 12 years old, and instead of imbuing him with the wisdom you might expect to find in an honors student, I wanted to create a Link that put a lot of energy into solving problems and getting out of the sticky situations he found himself in."

In Link's Awakening, Link has been confirmed to be 17 years old. But have you noticed in the Switch remake of Link's Awakening, Link has a high pitched voice? Explain how Skyward Sword Link has a deep voice at only 17 Axem Great Warrior.

Skyward Sword Link looks 19 years old.

That's easy to explain, actually. Basically, people grow and develop at different rates. Your physical body may finish developing at/around the age of 19, but that means nothing for the brain or the vocal cords. Just because 99.999999% of people have their adult voices or something very close by that age doesn't mean literally everybody has it. Case in point: My voice dropped around the time I turned 13, but I went to high school with someone whose voice remained high-pitched even as we graduated together (I'm not sure when his birthday fell relative to the school year, but I know I was 17 at that time, and so he was 17/18 as well). So someone who's legally an adult can still have a high-pitched voice.

And you have to realize that they're two different Links, after all, so one could have a deep voice while the other doesn't.

Your using multiple IP address to skew the poll in your favor welsh

No Brandy I actually know people who agree with me that Child Link is 12 and Adult Link is 19 in Ocarina of Time.

Nobody can be 100% sure of Link's real age but Child Link being 12 and Adult Link being 19 are the most logical ages.

And whoever voted for Child Link being 7, you do realise Link sleeps for 7 years to become an adult? On what planet are 14 year olds considered fully grown adults?

On Earth. Maybe not in modern times but there have been plenty of cultures throughout history, especially those similar to Hyrule, wherein you were considered an adult as young as 13.

The real question is "how old is Baby Mario in the sequel to Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island".

No there are many people all over the internet who think Child Link in Ocarina of Time is 12.
https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/9rx2e6/how_old_is_link_in_majoras_mask/
Ang_Logean:
"In OoT Link is 12yo, the events of MM happened several months after OoT so he is probably around 13yo (In TWW it is said that the hero of time was 12yo)"
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/997842-the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d/58740918
Mega__Man:
"12/19 was always the most logical ages for me."

Iokua:
"The "official" ages are 12/19 in the west and 8/15 in Japan... or so I've been told. I was always under the impression it was 8/15, but people attribute that to something Miyamoto stated, yet most other sources peg it at 12/19 or 10/17."

Neo-ganon:
"always thought he was 12 as young link, and 19 as adult link. mainly on the grounds that WW link is 12 when he is forced to do the "hero of time costume" tradition. I think.... its kinda up in the air due to the debate as to whether link was the hero of time when he left the temple of time as adult link, or whether he was already the hero of time since birth ("he's our keanu reeves")"

By the way Pirate_Ninja, what's your favourite Zelda game? Actually what's your favourite video game altogether?

yeah, bananabloke isn't a new face but idk if I've ever seen him make a post that didn't need to be tagged. Mostly just shows up to shout profanity at Xhin or something along those lines.

By the way Pirate_Ninja, what's your favourite Zelda game?
I dunno honestly, maybe Link to the Past? I've never really disliked one (that wasn't on the 3DO), have played most of them, and have re-played many of them. The ones I've replayed most recently are Adventure of Link and LttP, since I was fooling around with the Zelda 2 Randomizer and the Super Metroid/Link to the Past Combo Randomizer (which joins the maps of both games in specific spots and then shuffles the item locations between both, so you have to be familiar with both games and hop back and forth between them).

Actually what's your favourite video game altogether?
too bad at picking favorites to answer definitively. But in a general sense my favorites are like...JRPGs, adventure games, and platormers.

Thanks for agreeing with me Bandit. Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game considering the year it was made.

Majora's Mask is also decent.

OoT is great also, it just doesn't doesn't hit me with the same replay itch as 2D entries. I've still probably gone through it at least six times over the years though.

MM is cool but feels less replayable because of things like the timed schedules and waiting for stuff.

I remember their was a user named majoras mask 64 and we had a list of favorite Zelda games top 5. His list was absolutely stupid. He didn’t include oot and out 4 swords and Zelda II on his list I think he was trolling or just being contrarian

I remeber that list. He even included the widely panned cdi Zelda game. He was probably trolling.

zelda 2 is fun and a good game; they just tried something different and then gave up on it

real talk: I'd rather see a new Zelda title in that style than another one like BotW (which is another entry that departs from what preceded it). I'd like to see how much better they could pull off the concept nowadays with modern means (and the sense to avoid things like the more obscure puzzles that turn many people off).

Yeah, Zelda 2's not really as bad as people say it is. Minus the Darknuts, anyway. Those guys were a pain in the ass.
