How do I connect the switch so that it is compatible with the GameCube controller for all of its games and which games am I
missing that are worth it?
Posted: Posted October 9th by Weid man

Yesterday I got super mario party and two join controllers so now I have four of them, and also for mario tennis aces open from one of my friends

Last month I bought skyrim and Minecraft and downloaded fortnite for it as well

When I first got my switch for my birthday last year I got mario kart & deluxe and Zelda botw. Then I got mario odyssey and splatoon 2 for Christmas two months later.

Which games am I missing that are worth t? I know that ARMS is a good game so i’ll Ask my parents to get me that game for Christmas as well as smash switch and eight GameCube fresh new controllers (doesn’t the new GameCube controllers come with an l2 button, replacing z with r1)? Since smash switch is an eight player game i’ll need to have eight GameCube controllers since a lot of my friends come over and play smash, some of them have been to many real smash tournaments here in San Diego especially at UCSD since that college is infested with Asians who dominate at smash. It’s just as infested with Asians as much as or more than Berkeley is SOH.

What switch games should I ask for Christmas and how do I connect the switch to make it compatible with the GameCube controller for all of its games? I know that SOH totally loves the GameCube controller like I do.

You'll be able to use existing GameCube controllers as well, I believe. You'd need to buy an adapter, which then plugs into the USB ports on the dock, and plug the Controlers into that. If Yu had one for Smash U, I believe it would still work.

Can I use new GameCube controllers for the adapter? Does the adapter still work for the switch like it does for the wiiu? Who knows if it does or not? And what games am I missing that are worth it? I know that ARMS is a very good game.

You can use any GameCube controller with the adapter. Case in point, my friend Layla has a GC controller adapter and I've seen original GC controllers used with it.

Thank you? My last question is that does the new GameCube controllers come with an l2 button?

Posted October 9th by Weid man

Not that I can tell; it looks like it will be just a GC controller, like the Smash U version.

Posted October 9th by Black Yoshi

From what I can tell it is basically a repro GC controller with nothing added as far as buttons or additional functionality.

I have a few GC controllers that I might get the adapter for. Or use my 8bitdo SNES Pro style controller.

How many controllers can the GameCube controller adapter hold at maximum?

Posted October 9th by Weid man

Four. And it takes up both USB ports, so you'd need to have the other four players use Joy-Con or Pro Controllers.

I think it goes without saying but I’ll say it anyway: you won’t be able to play Smash Bros in undocked mode using the GC controllers since the USB ports needed for the adapter are located on the dock. Keep that in mind.

I think the Switch has 3 ports. I thought I heard people say you just don't plug the rumble port in.

I don’r have any wavebird conteollers anymore, hard to have one and hated it so I sold it. So there is no possible way that I will be able to play using all eight GameCube controllers? My parents have the money if they need to buy excess docks and adapters and such. Gonna ask for eight each for both types of the GameCube controllers (with and without the l2 button). I don’t want any other Christmas presents except a few games and any and all accessories needed to support as many GameCube controllers as possible for smash since I have a lot of friends yet alone the ones that I made from the Nintendo club that some novel student made during my senior year of high school just for the sole purpose of preparing for (via melee) and playing brawl which we all assembled every Monday at lunchtime in one of the computer teacher’s classroom which someone brought their Wii and smash with them to school and set it all up for everyone to play, when it finally came out after being delayed twice (Marvin told me that I shouldn’t go to e for all (more like BRAWL) fox “because you play until you lose” and you told me that it was a waste and not worth it because it cost $90 just to get in and I had tickets to go to knotts (scary) farm with my friends that Saturday, even though I dudn’t want to go to this amusement park that my parents bought these pre-paid tickets for, because it was open all night long for everyone that weekend which was the same weekend as e for all was, to go on their crazy rides even though I only got to go on ghost rider with my friends since the lines were an hour long just for their most famous and scary ride, much like how I only got on three rides at grad nite in disneyland the next year). Those were not worth the money, e for all would have been better even if the lines were just as bad which Marvin thought would be and he didn’t go to it. Any Nintendo controllers other than the GameCube controllers sucks dick. it’s controversial on whether the GameCube controllers match up to that of the PlayStation Xbox controllers though. My computer teacher from high school told our class that he loves using the PlayStation controllers because they’re flat and have the dual analog sticks (I like them too), but chubby custard from mike’s gametalk thinks that the Xbox controllers are the best because they’re made for comfort even though from my past experiences they feel all bulky imo.

Well actually i’ll accept any smash bros t shirts/muscle shirts and banners/posters and the like. I just don’t give a shit that is anything outside of gaming in regards to receiving Christmas and birthday presents, but gaming is super expensive and very high in demand for everything All I need is a good phone but even that’s super expensive because I have an iPhone even though I barely use any of its apps except Facebook and watch espn, and I always upgrade to get the new iphone at the end of each year so that I can access as many things as I need in regards to texting since I can’t hear/talk at all. But in regards to smash switch I need to get everything out there INCLUDING the remaining amiibos that aren’t in smash switch PLUS all downloadable content. I have every single DLC for smash bros wiiu and 3ds each and mario kart 8. And I bet smash bros switch will have even MORE downloadable content available. It’s too bad that i’ll miss voice chat for this game (I used Skype for brawl’s in bout convos with fox and pirate ninja and jahoy hoy and many others). I’ll miss the lovely music as well (I wanted the dj to play brawll’s music at my high school’s prom in 2008 in which fox and pirate ninja can tell you all about it. MONA PIZZA!!!!) What else do I need besides multiple docked USB ports and adapters so that I can play smash bros switch with the GameCube controller for ALL EIGHT PLAYSRS?

Posted October 11th by Weid man

Thing is, if the adapter is anything like the Wii U version, it won't even work unless both parts are plugged in.

Multiple docks won’t do you much good unless you know of a way of connecting them that I don’t.

If you want 8 GC style controllers then get this controller:

Works off of Bluetooth and has improvements to be compatible with switch games.

Well now it’s for certain. At least this isn’t shaped like the wavebird controller which feels like a bulky Xbox controller. This is a default GameCube controller with Bluetooth I guess/ how often will I need to charge these Bluetooth GameCube controllers? Now I need to get my right middle finger working properly, it has major macular atrophy from past surgery results so I need to stretch it out since I’ll need to use both index and middle fingers for the two shoulder buttons on each side.

Looks like the controller uses 2 standard AA batteries. So if you are looking for a rechargeable option you’ll need to get rechargeable AA style batteries and a compatible charger.

Something like this should work for this controller: https://www.amazon.com/Energizer-Rechargeable-Battery-Recharge-Batteries/dp/B00IM3P8GS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1539683927&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=rechargeable+batteries&dpPl=1&dpID=41OfQMVPO7L&ref=plSrch
