If you do regular exercise, work a full time job, etc. do yourself a favor by doing these two things:

  • do a regular deep stretch routine, ideally once per day

  • get a deep tissue massage once a month or so

    I would also suggest sleeping on something flat and hard (like the cot that I sleep on) in order to straighten out your posture and prevent over-sleeping, but that's a little more extreme.

    When I went camping a while back I slept on the ground. Sleeping on or even just lying on something flat and hard seems to be really really good for joint issues / even things like circulation.

    I like to lay flat on my mattress without using a pillow for this reason. No neck pain, and it makes meditation better too. No distractions.

    At home I usually forgo being on the couch and lay on the hardwood floor often instead. Friends think I'm nuts but it feels better to me than the couches.
