Favorite Character(s) and Role to Play
Posted: Posted August 3rd, 2016 by Axem Metal

Which roles do you tend to play if you had first pick? Are you more or a flex player?

Main Support, Off Tank here.

Favorite characters in order would be: Lucio, Zarya, Mercy, Reinhardt, Zen, Junkrat.

I'll play whatever is necessary, but I've always been a pretty bad healer in online games. Lucio's AOE healing is a lot less stressful than trying to juggle-heal 5 other people one at a time, so that's probably why I actually enjoy playing as him.

I guess I'd best be described as Offense or Tank.

Favorite characters would be: Junkrat, Reinhardt, Soldier 76, Lucio, Reaper, Bastion

I like the attack classes the most, but I go healer when needed. Not really a tank player but if the team needs it, the team needs it.

Mind you my experience is quite limited (a two-day marathon session), but I'm a big fan of Pharah, Reinhardt, Hanzo, Genji and Tracer. I'm not very good with Tracer, but she's immensely fun to play. I don't like playing Symmetra but I'm very good at her.

I can't heal. I'm pretty good at sniping and at being Tank.

I don't believe that Soldier 76 players exist. They're bots or something. Why would you not just play CoD.

Soldier 76 definitely isn't interesting, but he's a good pick when your team needs damage. His healing ability can be really useful too when your team is pushing the cart or trying to hold a checkpoint.

He's also an absolute terror if you combo his ultimate with ana's damage boost ultimate.

I think a 76 is a great choice for any occasion. Definitely isn't the most original, but his flex in every situation really makes him invaluable. And yes, he is a horror with Ana. I like to imagine when enemy Ana ults, she's saying "it's Marie with the weather," then a Zarya pops out yelling, "and now, SPORTS"

Lucio is the king of KOTH by far. Even if you don't like healing, give him and shot and experience the delight of booping them suckas to the pits of hell

He isn't flashy or anything, but I still like playing as 76. He's a great fit for any situation; and just like Pharah he pairs well with Mercy.

D.Va is my main overall, but I tend to gravitate towards Offense or Defense characters if I'm picking early and don't feel like playing as her. I enjoy alternating between roles though, and have no issues switching to whatever character mid-match to counter the opposition. I also have preferences depending on the map.

The other characters I primarily choose are Junkrat, Mei, Lucio, 76 and Reaper. But the only ones I don't play as, or don't have much experience with, are Widowmaker, Genji, Roadhog and Zarya.

I'd suggest giving Zarya a shot. She is probably the character I have the most fun with, and isn't restricted to certain maps or team comps (besides being an off-tank)

Played Zarya for about an hour tonight. I don't mind her - timing her shields perfectly and countering with a charged beam does feel rewarding - but she's still not one I'll be revisiting very often. Her skins are awful, too.

Yeah, it takes some getting used to when to shield yourself/others and prioritizing who to shield, when to back off, when to play aggressive, how aggressive, etc.

I like her skins for the Summer Games, that's about it. The gothic skins look so out of character on her.
