Does anybody here like the song called American pie? What was so special about 50’s rock?

Apparently the lead singer thinks that 50’s Rock was completely different than the new age of classic rock. I miss hearing this song. Was 50’s rock like mile’s Gametalk?

50's rock was a lot of Elvis, a lot of simpler 2-3 minute catchy in-and-out songs. It was very simple, very easy, and very cool. Nobody tried to do anything too hard in the 50s. Originals include Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog from Elvis Presley, That'll Be The Day and Oh Boy from Buddy Holly and The Crickets, while Crocodile Rock from Elton John paid homage to that sort of sound.

The 60s got a million times more experimental while the 70s just got bigger. Overproduction became rampant in rock to levels no one could compete, so it split into alternatives: punk, and grunge, before kind of whittling down and out of the mainstream. But there are still great bands modernizing rock, like Greek Fire.

Sorry Weid :(
