This will take a while.

I want to do this for a few reasons:

  • Help guides would be nice.
  • Should give me a better idea of how to condense things, or new things I could add
  • Various pieces could go in my otherwise dusty portfolio

  • There are 3 Replies

  • Site stats (posts in 24 hours and forum breakdown, database heavy)

  • Registration w/ auto activation, accounts in general

Tabs system lets you open various submenus without switching to a different page. These tabs will show up over the existing content and fixed to wherever you are on the page.

  • Alerts -- shows GTX0 alerts (@name in post, @name: in reply), NIFE alerts, short messages from other users and lets you reply to them or otherwise send them as well. You can delete individual alerts.

  • People -- shows people that are viewing the site. Tries to narrow down the actual primary username or account from the data that's saved on pageviews. It shows the time they last browsed the site, and the page they last browsed. This list clears itself every 15 minutes.

  • Favorites -- Shows a user's favorited forums. There's a special algorithm at work that makes forum names of various sizes show up in as large a font as possible and only splits lines if absolutely necessary.

    Sky's the limit

At this point, some sort of tutorial (could be made interactive, easily) might be necessary. When i was looking over the tags, i asked myself "Is this more or less complicated than HTML?"

Heck, depending on how rough the setup to get the tag bits of your code running (frankly, i hate php, javascript, and the rest, so i'd rather not try to write a parser in them), i'd get it running in a private part of my site then just write the tutorial in a php file or two and send the file back to you.
