Cursed, Hallowed, Broken equipment notes
Posted: Posted March 7th, 2018 by Xhin

This plugin will introduce three new properties for equipment (not mutually exclusive):

  • Broken equipment can't be equipped. If you need to equip an item to use it (some weapons, soon to be machines and lockpicks), you're out of luck until you fix it.

  • Cursed equipment can't be removed or switched out with other equipment (lifted from roguelikes)

  • If you unequip Hallowed equipment, you still keep its equipment effects. You can't stack this with the same item, but there's an option to allow it with the same *type* of item.

There's a couple new events connected with this plugin:

  • Break, unbreak, curse, uncurse, hallow, unhallow events should be obvious.

  • A "hard unhallow" event (to be renamed) will unhallow an item *and* remove all hallowed auras it's bestowed.

  • You can remove hallowed-based auras manually or clear them all out at once.

Next break: names. Will probably cover blessed items too

  • settingsOptions

Just so you know I am reading stuff even though I haven't replied to the last several.

When you try to equip a broken item or unequip a cursed/hallowed item, it'll be renamed "Cursed X", "Broken X" or whatever unless already titled.

There's a new event, "identify" which attaches these titles to an item when called so you can, say, identify cursed equipment before putting it on.
