I have a suggestion.

Leading up to and during the Midterms on Tuesday, instead of having one thread about it, presumably made by whoever does it first, can we have three separate threads?

My ideas is to have a thread for the House, a thread for the Senate, and a thread for Governorships and Proposals.

Considering the amount of elections, especially in the House, I think one thread won't be able be very conducive to group discussion and updates, whereas multiple threads would. I think the Senate race especially needs its own thread, because it's relatively small, and would lend itself to people making predictions and comparing it to others.

Why? We're not nearly big enough to justify doing that. It was weird enough that people felt the need to make a lot of threads about Kavanaugh when it could have been easily contained within one or 2.

I do not see why not, as long as it is constructive and is not derailed by people trying to make the topics about themselves or devolved into the semantics of clarifying stated opinions in some way. Probably an @Arch: @Famov: kind of question though since those topics are usually for the World forum.

Feel free to make them, if you want. I'll certainly throw in my perspective on what's happening here in Michigan. The governor and Senate seats are nearly foregone conclusions, but we do have a host of interesting proposals this year.

Okay. I just wanted to suggest it first before starting 3-4 threads in a row.

This sounds awfully specific and it sounds a lot like it's quite potentially ignoring the overall context and the people who enabled that and the fact that it was my own thread.

I still don't see why, it would be perfectly fine contained in one thread.

If you aren't saying that fine, but if you're implying that I was actually intending to make it all about myself or having it devolve into that or that it was all my fault. And maybe don't get so specific about something unrelated and likely to remain unrelated unless you intended to start something. Regardless of what you meant it was definitely not the best way to put things because it just sounds rather passive aggressive instead of concerned. Be less oddly specific next time if you really are just concerned.

hey look, you're doing exactly that

Ya now. Because he decided to either instigate or sound like he was doing such. Isn't it funny how if you mention something in a negative oddly specific way it can generate rather specific reactions? If he had just been less specific about something completely irrelevant or clarified what he meant more it would have been fine.

Well, let's just try this way for once.

Because I think the Senate races are important enough, yet limited to only about 3 or 4 races that are uncertain, to warrant its own thread and not have to compete with the drama of the House races.

And also, if by chance a thread devolves into arguing about a specific race, or something off-topic altogether, that also won't detract from other parts of the midterms.

But worst case scenario, people prefer to talk in one of the threads, which is fine.

or you could just stop reading things as personal attacks and making the topic about yourself

you were not mentioned in that post

you are certainly not the only person who has done what that post described

and even if it was meant to specifically describe you and your behavior, don't you think demonstrating that exact behavior is juuuuuuust about the worst way to respond to it? As opposed to, perhaps, ignoring it and sticking to the intended subject?

you are responsible for your posts

I would like to cove4 california. Or Dr. Doom can. I'm still bummed out Travis Allen lost to cox.

Now its between Cox and Gavin.

No progress vs some progress. Gonna move with Gavin before drowning myself in alcohol.

I wanted to suggest exactly that, that people talk about their own house races and what predictions they have for them.

Can someone explain the midterms to me like I’m 5. If the Republicans lose Trump isn’t president anymore?
