Bonnie Ross says all future FPS titles will have split-screen

This is from the recent DICE Awards. Bonnie came out to talk a bit about Halo in general. She mentioned some of the struggles that they have had and stated that going forward, all FPS titles will have split-screen. She also touched a bit on the story and that maybe they are trying to tell too much story, and will try to simplify the story going forward.

Kind of a somber feel to it, but she seems sincere.

Yeah, a lot of players were not happy that split screen was not included in Halo 5. Especially since it was one of the main reasons halo 1 and the rest of the halo series in general were so popular.

I remember beating Halo 1 with one of my buddies doing split screen on legendary a week before Halo 2 came out to be ready. It was awesome.

I think 343 had data showing that the majority of players don't use split-screen anymore. And I believe that's true. But the minority that do play local co-op were very vocal when it was taken away.

If taking away split-screen was necessary for 60fps then I'm glad they made the decision. I'm not sure if that's the case, though. I know they said it was necessary to allow for the graphics to be where they wanted them to be.

Thats probably true that alot of people don't use it much anymore. But I feel like it should be included for those that do or would like to.

Also, I feel like they could have had the game lower the 60fps down to 45 or 30 for split screen. Most would probably be doing the campaign or firefight anyway where the drop in frames may not affect the gameplay as much as competitive multiplayer where split screen could be restricted.
