Where the past still shines

Heh. Not sure why but I was just thinking of Gametalk and decided to run a google search. Guess this site is still up and running, catching up to the old sites lifespan. Had a lot of good times...

Ragu! Welcome back! Mayhap you don't remember me, but I remember us chatting in the Guitar Hero forum on the original GT, and I remember wondering how you could beat Jordan on Expert when I couldn't even get halfway through (I have been able to beat it since then).

Posted April 14th, 2017 by Black Yoshi

I never did beat Jordan. :[

I five-starred all of the main setlist songs Guitar Hero 3 including Raining Blood, One, Number of the Beast. I could get through TTFAF. But I could never get through the solo in Jordan.

I remember the conversation, but sadly not the name.

Vandy how goes? Pick up a nintendo switch?

Posted April 15th, 2017 by Ragu

No unfortunately I don't have enough time for more than one system. I barely have enough time for my Xbox as it is. I am sad that I won't be playing Breath of the Wild; it will be the first main Zelda title that I don't play. Maybe in a few years when I'm done with school and have more free time I will be able to pick one up. I would rather Nintendo just become third-party and put their games on Playstation or Xbox so I can play them that way.

Do you still play games at all?

At one point I was Black Yoshi (guest) because I thought you had to register an account to post, and then the site wouldn't let me remove the (guest).

The trick to Jordan is having full Star Power going into the solo, and then using it at exactly the right time.

I know that and I would try. I would survive into the solo as long as I could before using the star power, but it would still run out before the solo ended and it was never enough. I think the problem was that I played GH3 before GH2 and timing was a lot more forgiving in GH3.

I still play games when I can. Other than the xboxes I have all consoles pretty much. Got the switch. BotW was nice, didn't 100% it but completed it. I missed about 12 shrines of the 120 and apparently a few hundred korok seeds of the 900. Didn't use a guide and I dont think i would ever 100% since it seems like a waste of time to find all 900 when apparently only 441 can be used (i had found about 100). Let my brother borrow it to play so wont be able to for a bit. Right now playing Tales of Berseria. Perks of being a math teacher is not much work after 4pm and have a lot of vacation time.

As for Jordan I noticed it also depended on platform, more forgiving when played on friends xbox since they had a newer guitar controller which they made improvements to. Yea GH3 to GH2 was a big difference, GH3 a lot easier.

ayyyyy it's the sauceman c:

100%-ing BotW is for suckers thanks to the Korok seeds and some of the armor upgrading imo (farming the elemental dragons for parts hahano).

rly looking forward to Berseria but I've held off on buying it because I have several unfinished games as it is. Any thoughts on the game?

I'll probably cave as soon as I see a price drop, honestly...really curious to see the cast in particular, since I have some exposure to them through the demo and the series' mobile game, Tales of Link. Sorta scratching that itch by being thorough with Tales of Hearts R, which I beat recently and am now on a New Game + run of.

Good to hear from you Ragu! Been a while.

Bersersia has been nice so far, like the fighting setup and how skills get better based off usage. Huge fan of the "Tales of" Series.

Xhin long time! Hope all is well.

Ragu you were one of the nazi mods nobody liked right?

Posted April 16th, 2017 by Hashish x Muhammed {{CRooKz}}

I know the whiny 2 years who only knew how to express feelings by cursing were not a fan of me. For the most part I don't think people considered me a nazi.

Posted April 17th, 2017 by Ragu

Ragu wasn't a Nazi. In fact, I think he served as an admin under Mike at one point, and he was awesome.

I think most of my interactions weren't the best with him, because I was somthing of a trouble-maker back then. Not so much a troll as a nosey wannabe mod who stuck my nose into everybodies business.

Ragu, you probably remember me best as Silverbolt or R0gue_Panther. More recently, I was Feral Wolf.

I remember a Silverbolt who went to one of the wrestling forums, wrestling or e-fed dont recall which. Don't remember the other names.

You can't just disappear and then pop back up randomly and expect us regs to just welcome you back with open arms!

Hey ragu great to see you back here. I'm garrett Baumann on the gametalk moderators feoupnpage on Facebook with you and everyone else there.

The trick to beating One is to use star power immediately as the solo begins because it is near impossible to slide your fingers back and force atlas the fretbars to swiftly. Then you have to hope that your fingers are fast enough to get through the rest of the song. I got 98% through one time but couldn't get that close ever since.
