Below is a long list of ways I'm going to advertise GTX0 once their respective projects are done (if they're not already):


  • Create (or reuse) several formats and recruit writers to host games in them (short games are better to test out potential hosts)

  • Advertise the games themselves heavily to my gamer/D&D networks

  • Heavily advertise the games to various MUD/text adventure/etc subreddits/facebook groups/whatever I find


  • Advertise the engine's capabilities (they're somewhat unique) to various mafia sites, our friends over at smw central, and again groups and networks across the internet


  • Create various article formats and appeal them to small blog writers (write for us and get a bigger audience)

  • integrate social media sharing into quirks (and probably normal posts too, why not) and then share them in select places

  • Work with KM8 to rebuild RPG Chat's RP capabilities and then heavily advertise it on RP-type sites.

    Channels feature

  • advertise to streamers, especially those looking to do multi-stream matches

  • appeal to small-time youtubers to gain another audience when they drop videos -- also could talk to them about hosting playlist-based content.

  • use the rotating feature to occasionally host "music parties" or maybe also "funny video parties", which are advertisable to literally everyone (so, scour my personal networks)

  • I definitely want to advertise the playlist-building aspect of the channels feature, but I don't have a plan for that yet (maybe advertise to people who comment on youtube videos? idk)

    General advertising

  • Streamline and heavily separate a couple forums (via the old project Transfusion) and advertise them across topical sites.

  • Find dead or dying forums and merge them into the GTX0 family (offer features, activity boosts, give them the ability to govern themselves (via the old forum system), import some of their posts). This worked very very well for GT clone sites, there's no reason it can't also be applied to non-GT sites.

    Various plans here can be monetized once I have some capital available, as can general advertising (provided I know the target market and have something worth advertising to them).

    Once the projects are done, I've *got* to get a job so I can have capital flowing again, and at that point I'll spend my off-time advertising rather than working on long projects.

    Like the rest of my projects, these plans will influence one another and I'll build new plans on top of whatever foundation they lay down.

  • Make a deal with some people on deviantart: the more they post at GTX0, the more exposure their art gains on GTX0 via background images placed in topical forums.

    I'm getting reaaaaaal close to the end of Quirks, and also to Automafia (which I took a break from). There's still the stream feature and the chat system, but a lot of the heavy lifting is done there already.

    I also need to simplify, streamline, add help for, or otherwise make various parts of the site more intuitive and less daunting for beginners.

    I also need to create some kind of navigation that isn't the quicklinks (but links to them, lets you have them all the time, etc) even if it's stupid. Has to be done. I can build on it later.

    This is interesting. I've already written a few posts here over the years that were intended to be more of an article or essay and less about direct engagement in discussion. I'd like to see this worked on.

    @nullfather: Well, the Quirks content engine already has this functionality. I need to dust that project off, simplify the last remaining task (I think there's only one) and polish it up.

    I have a job now so I have a lot more breathing room as far as GTX0 projects go.
