We're gonna need a bigger boat.

These are in no particular order and these are not necessarily my top 3, but they do make my top 10

3) Severus Snape: Yes, I love Snape. He's one of the few grey characters in the whole series. His childhood home was full of neglect and parents who constantly argued with one another. He fell in love with his childhood friend and wanted her to love him back, but she was in love with a man that he hated. Snape was constantly bullied throughout his years at Hogwarts by James and the Marauders. Snape never seemed to forgive any of the men, though in his adult years he could at least maintain a professional relationship with Remus and never sought revenge against Sirius during the times they were together at Grimauld Place in the fifth book. He was a Death Eater shortly after leaving Hogwarts and later secretly switched sides if it meant that the woman he loved could be protected from Voldemort. After Lily died, he still maintained his loyalty to Dumbledore and agreed to protect Harry during the boy's time at the school. In Harry's sixth year, Dumbledore made Snape promise that Snape would be the one to kill Dumbledore so that Voldemort would believe Snape to be the master of the Elder Wand instead of Draco. He also made Snape promise to protect the students from Death Eaters after his (Dumbledore's) death. Snape's story is one of tragedy and heartbreak, but also of courage, love, and loyalty.

2) Luna Lovegood: Luna is a year younger than Harry and resides in Ravenclaw house. She's one of the students who joins Dumbledore's Army in the fifth book and goes with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Ginny to the Department of Mystery in the Ministry of Magic. Luna is quirky and lack self-conscious, which meant she would always speak her mind. Luna is also nonjudgmental and very accepting of others to the point where she is unfazed by the ridicule and mockery of the other students. Luna is also great at comforting others, such as when she comforted Harry after Sirius's death. I wish I could be more like Luna. I try my best every day not to let the opinions of those who aren't my friends or family bother me and I do my best to be loyal to them and comfort them when needed.

1) Rubeus Hagrid: Hagrid is a big, friendly giant with a big heart for both the main trio and magical creatures of all kinds, though the more dangerous they are the more he adores them. Hagrid was Harry's first friend he ever made in his life and the two always stood up for each other. The bond Hagrid shared with Harry was, in my opinion, something like that of a brother. The two always stood up for one another, never let anything deter their friendship, always supported each other, and had a shared bond of being orphaned outsiders that Harry never failed to honor. Even after Harry left Hogwarts, it's implied that the two still maintained a strong friendship given the fact that two of Harry's sons were planning to have tea with the half-giant after their first day arrival at Hogwarts. Hagrid's kindness and loyalty are what make me love him so much. He's also stuck by Harry and Dumbledore's sides and he was willing to do anything for them. He also shares my love of animals and his dumbfounded moments when he realizes he said something he shouldn't have.

So those are a few of my favorite characters from the franchise. Other's include Harry, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Nymphadora Tonks, and Ginny Weasley.

My top three: ps you have a lot of spoilers in ur post, js

Draco , I always found him more intriguing the harry, I always wanted to know why he acted like that and what he was doing while Harry and the others were scheming. Also in prisoner of Azkaban is when I think he looks the best , I love his curtained blond hair and how much more witty he is than in the other too movies.

Crave: I know his character wasn’t explored much but I was really surprised when he does what he does towards the in the room of requirement( don’t want to spoil it Incase anyone sees it) but it really showed he was dedicated to the cause even if it was bad u have to admire it.

Lucius: my favorite, I love his accent, the cane he carries around, the clothes he wears and his confidence, and he is defiantly is the one whe he’s on screen that I look at mostly. I know he’s evil and I don’t support what he’s doing, but he does change towards the end so he does redeem himself and he really cares for Draco, but can’t show it because Voldemort would see it as weak, but he defiantly the best chrscter

Normally I would have put spoiler tags, but DHp2 has been out for 7 years and the final book has been out for over a decade, so I'm not all that concerned about it.

Not another Slytherin fan. :/ I don't get it. Why is Slytherin so cool? I'm a proud Hufflebuff bitches.

My favorites. Well, I don't really have a top three since I love most them anyway:

Fred and George Weasley
Cedric Diggory
Hermione Granger

gonna jump in and say any one who likes the movies over the books is wrong

no real reason but

Kingsley Shacklebelt

One Eyed Moody

Lupin

In the 5th book Harry is looking at a photograph with the OG Order of the Phoenix members and mentions something about a pair of brothers who went down fighting 5 death eaters at once. I would love a prequel series or spin off covering those dark times.

Hufflebuff

As a Hufflepuff you had one job. Get out of the Kitchen.

Given that Horace Slughorn is basically the only "good guy" Slytherin that isn't a spiteful manchild it stands to reason that he is my favorite almost by default. He proved himself to be a perfectly acceptable human being that still managed to exhibit the values of Slytherin House. We were told that they weren't exclusively about blood purity, reactionary politics, and deep seated emotional problems but there's so little evidence from the other Slytherins we meet that this is true in any way.

I've always been fond of Mad Eye Moody, but there's a dilemma with him. Most of the Moody we saw was the Barty Crouch Jr. impersonation. So am I really a fan of Mad Eye or am I merely entertained by Crouch's performance? It's difficult to say. I always loved the scene where fake Moody is tormenting Draco, but that is 100% Crouch acting on the animosity he harbors for Lucius.

Sirius Black is the impossibly cool uncle that you don't realize is outrageously irresponsible and self destructive until you're a bit older and more mature than he ever intended to be. Good job on falling through literally the only Death Veil in existence. Still, when I was a kid I felt like he was one of Harry's only lifelines in Book 5, and that's probably how he managed to endear himself to so many young readers.

You mean the Curiously Conspicuous Magical MacGuffin of Pointless Plot? It's been a while since I read the books, but I don't remember a reason why he had to die in that particular way. Perhaps there was some thematic point that I've since forgotten.

His death always makes me go wtf. At least have his cousin kill him with a killing curse or something.

The 5th book is the worst imo behind the philosophers stone. Rowling even said it herself that she rushed it and it requires revisions. I'm sure had she taken her time Sirius would have had a better death.

@the moody thing I believe that's what the real moody would have done. I mean barty jr even fooled the greatest wizard of our time with his acting.

Didn't Sirius also have a brother who wasn't a complete asshoke slytherin?

What's so weird about it is that the veil feels like a metaphor for death except it's actually a physical object left unguarded in the Department of Mysteries. Sirius is hit by an unknown spell (they made it the killing curse in the movie) and is knocked back into it. The only way we have any reason to believe that this has killed him is because everyone insists to Harry that this is the case. If there's some greater reason its existence then I have no idea what it is.

I absolutely agree. There are simply far too many instances of ALL CAPS Harry for my liking, and the irrational teenage angst is something that becomes less endearing over time. There's stuff in The Order of the Phoenix that I like, including The Order itself. It is a bit silly though that pretty much every sympathetic adult figure in Harry's life is part of a secret anti-Voldemort spy club.

Regulus. Unfortunately we never get to learn much about him. All we know is that he was tempted by Voldemortian extremism as a teenager until he changed his mind, found out the location of the locket horcrux, and promptly died.

well it makes sense. A lot of them believed Dumbledore years before when he said voldemort wasn't truly gone. And snapes death mark thing was enough to convice people as well.
